PAWTUCKET, RI – The 56-year-old man, who reportedly self-identified as transgender, accused of murdering two family members and injuring several others at a youth hockey game in Rhode Island reportedly threatened to go “BERSERK” a day before the massacre in a social media post regarding transgenderism.
Robert Dorgan reportedly took his own life after opening fire inside the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket where his son was playing a hockey game on February 16th. According to reports, the deceased suspect is accused of killing two individuals reportedly related to him and critically injuring three others in what law enforcement sources have described as a “family dispute.”
Speculation is rising insofar that the alleged familial dispute appears to be intrinsically tied to Dorgan’s gender transition, as court records show Dorgan’s wife reportedly filed for divorce back in 2021 citing “gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic + personality disorder traits,” but later amended the filing to “irreconcilable differences.”
Police records from 2020 out of North Providence, Rhode Island, detail that Dorgan had previously contacted authorities over his father-in-law allegedly making derogatory remarks about transgenders and told him he wanted him out of the family house due to his adopted gender identity.
Dorgan had apparently adopted the moniker “Roberta Esposito” under his self-declared gender identity, with social media activity, accompanied by some photos of the deceased gunman, showcasing a confounding collection of ideological standings. Photos of Dorgan show him proudly showing off a Totenkopf tattoo overlaying an SS insignia, with past social media posts denigrating Jews.
The deceased suspect also happened to be a big supporter of trans rights and transgenderism as a whole, which media pundits have pointed out the inconsistencies in these ideologies. One day prior to the mass shooting in Pawtucket, style="color:#467886; text-decoration:underline" target="_blank">Dorgan wrote under a post made by actor Kevin Sorbo who was criticizing Congressman Sarah (Tim) McBride’s transgender identity, “keep bashing us. but do not wonder why we Go BERSERK.”
Considering the fatal shooting allegedly carried out by Dorgan, users across social media have pointed to this particular post as evidence suggesting gender dysphoria should be categorized as a mental illness.
The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing and police have not publicly named the individuals killed and injured during the incident.
