The assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10 shook the nation. Despite the tragedy, Kirk’s family and the organization he built are not backing down.

During a recent livestreaming video message, Charlie’s wife Erika Kirk delivered an emotional vow that his mission would not end with his death.

“I will not be silenced,” she said. “This is just the beginning. Charlie’s voice will live on in every student, every event, every chapter that carries forward the truth.”

Turning Point USA has announced plans to expand its campus outreach in the coming months, even as threats against conservative speakers reach an all-time high. Since Kirk’s death, the group says it has received over 50,000 requests for new student chapters at schools and colleges across the country, showing a surge of young people determined to continue his vision.

With this rapid growth comes a heightened focus on safety. Every Turning Point speaker, from nationally recognized leaders to local advocates, is now considered at risk. That reality has led to urgent conversations about how to secure events without slowing the movement's momentum.

Kirk’s appearance at the college took place outdoors with relatively limited protection. According to Campus Police Chief Jeff Long, only six university officers were assigned to manage the crowd of approximately 3,000 attendees. Authorities have not confirmed whether officers checked nearby rooftops, one of which became the shooter’s vantage point.

Kirk, who frequently toured colleges to promote conservative values, was known for keeping his events open and accessible. Security arrangements varied from campus to campus, with local police usually overseeing the broader event perimeter, while Kirk’s private team focused on his immediate safety.

See It Send It, an innovative mobile app, provides a solution for such security needs. The security and communication platform has already been deployed successfully for major public events, transportation systems, and large venues nationwide. It provides a secure way for staff, law enforcement, and approved volunteers to coordinate high-profile gatherings.

Dan Kerning started See It Send It after groups asked him to help improve how their employees communicate and stay safe. A former Naval Flight Officer, he saw the opportunity to use his military experience to create mobile apps that provide people with better awareness and tools to manage situations and stay in control, similar to the systems used on the E-2C Hawkeye aircraft.

Law Enforcement Today is committed to its mission of safety and wants to play a role in gathering off duty law enforcement officers who would be prescreened to assist on security teams. With threats on the rise, LET is calling on qualified men and women who are willing to help protect these events while ensuring that free speech continues.

With such a large security presence needed to protect these events, communication becomes critical. Teams must be able to coordinate securely in real time g. This is where See It Send It excels, offering secure communication channels that allow vetted law enforcement, veterans, and volunteers to stay informed and respond quickly to potential threats.

By having a large security team in place, along with the ability to communicate via a secure app, these pre-screened volunteers can complete pre-event evaluations and document and address any vulnerabilities prior to the event.  This is in addition to the secure communications provided on the day of the event.  It also provides data for after-action reports and reviews.

The need has never been greater. Kirk’s assassination highlighted the dangers faced by those who dare to speak boldly on today’s campuses and in public. But with See It Send It helping organizations and law enforcement, there is a way forward that combines vigilance and technology to meet the growing challenge.

See It Send It seeks to provide security for all Americans, including those serving to protect leaders during events who need the extra benefits the app offers for any unexpected threat.
