In the latest episode of “Sheepdog and Shepherd,” the hosts continue one of their most explosive conversations yet, featuring Sen. Mark Finchem (R-Ariz.) and retired Assistant Police Chief Shawn Taylor. Together, they dive deeper into the dark realities of political corruption and discuss the spiritual resolve required to stand against it.

“This is a bold statement,” Finchem said about ACT Blue’s fundraising controversy, “but I’m going to put the flag in the ground and say anybody who has received money from ACT Blue has received an illegal contribution that has been money laundered with offshore money. That’s what this all boils down to.”

Finchem explained that under state and federal law, “any elected official standing for election cannot accept foreign money. Hard stop.” The system, he said, has created power brokers who “don't necessarily care who gets into office, and we're talking about power brokers now, you don't care who gets into office, as long as it's your guy, because then you pick up the cell phone and it's like, hey, I need you to vote no on this, or I need you to push this policy or that policy, and that's how it's done.”

Shawn Taylor also added his concerns: “I've lost faith in politicians on both sides, the communists and the rhinos, the idea that we have politicians knowingly or unknowingly accepting illegal offshore campaign contributions should be a no-brainer.”

Finchem agreed that money has corrupted much of the system. He warned, “We now engage in a simulation of an election, especially when it’s counted by a machine that’s black box ballot tabulation… instead of counting paper ballots by hand in front of people.”

That lack of transparency, he said, has called the system into question. Despite the weight of the corruption they exposed, Finchem and Taylor both spoke of God’s providence guiding their mission.

“We constantly have to remind ourselves we’re just grains of sand in this,” Finchem said. “Individuals come into our orbit at the exact right time that they're supposed to. I firmly believe God will never let me or anyone else be late for an appointment that He has set.”

The work, Finchem said, continues through the Election Fairness Institute. “We don’t even accept government contracts,” he noted. “Because we want the people who consume our work product to recognize the government’s not paying for this… Elections belong to the people.”

The episode closed with a tribute to their late friend Boone Cutler, a veteran and strategist whose work in psychological operations helped them refine their message. “He asked me one day, ‘Do you remember when we met?’” Finchem recalled. “I said, that’s kind of a spooky question, because no, I don’t. He said, ‘I’m the guy that handed you a microphone in front of the Phoenix City Council when you were dressing them down.’”

Taylor and Finchem emphasized that their mission is grounded not in politics, but in faith and accountability. “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers,” Taylor reminded listeners. “Keep fighting the good fight. Put on that armor every day. We’re praying for you. You’re not alone in that battle.”
