Sitting Democrat congressman and "Business Insider" fantasize about Trump death

Over the past few years, the left has fantasized about the death of former President Donald Trump. In fact, some on the right have expressed concern that Trump’s life may be, in fact, in danger, including conservative talk show host Dan Bongino, who has insider information.

Tucker Carlson asked Trump about it in an interview on “X.”

“The next stage is violence. Are you worried they’re gonna try to kill you? Why wouldn’t they try to kill you? Honestly,” Carlson asked the former president.

“Uh…they’re savage animals. They are people that are sick…really sick,” Trump replied.

Now, some on the left aren’t even trying to hide their desire to have the former president taken out, with some taking their fantasies to dog-whistling about the possibility…including a sitting United States Congressman, Dan Goldman (D-NY).

During an interview with former Biden administration chief propagandist Jen Psaki on MSNBC, Goldman and Psaki discussed the recent release of troves of January 6 videos by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

During the interview, Psaki played a video of a conversation between Trump and ABC’s Jonathan Karl about the January 6 protests. Trump told Karl he wished he could have gone to the Capitol to “stop the problem” and said he believed he would have been “very well-received” had he been allowed to go.

In a stretch of epic proportions, Psaki then asked Goldman if he felt “as a prosecutor, this is something that could be useful in the case [Jack Smith’s January 6 investigation] against Trump.”

Goldman answered in the affirmative, claiming Trump’s language was “riling up” and “inciting” his supporters, completely ignoring Trump’s statement that people should “peacefully and patriotically” make “their voices heard.” There was zero incitement to violence. Yet Goldman claimed that “every time he (Trump) talks, he’s putting himself into a bigger criminal hole” and “his objective is purely political.” Because clearly, Goldman’s is not.

This is where Goldman not only went off the rails but also appeared to issue a call to action against President Trump.

“His rhetoric is getting dangerous, more and more dangerous…and we saw what happened on January 6th when he uses inflammatory rhetoric. That man cannot see public office again.”

“He is not only unfit, he is destructive to our democracy. He has to be eliminated.

As the Gateway Pundit surmised, one can only imagine the response if someone like Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) or Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) made such a statement about Biden or Obama. Does anyone doubt that Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director James Comey would already have an investigation up and running?

Now, the mainstream media is jumping on board the Trump death fantasy train. Business Insider published a piece last week fantasizing about Trump dying while running for the 2024 presidential nomination.

“If Trump dies while seeking reelection, a few different things could happen, depending on when he dies and how close it is to election day,” Business Insider gushed.

“If Trump died during primary season–which ends in mid-June–some states may postpone their scheduled primaries,” Business Insider surmised.

The outlet noted precedent in postponing primaries, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Suddenly, Business Insider seems concerned about age (Trump will turn 78 in June) and ignores that Biden just turned 81.

“If Trump were to die before January 1, 2024, there would likely be other Republicans who want to jump into the race,” they wrote.

If Trump (who was recently given a clean bill of health by his doctor) were to somehow meet his demise (either naturally or otherwise) “after the last primary but before the Republican National Convention, the other GOP presidential candidates would have to make a case to every state delegation at the convention for why they should be the party’s nominee.”

However, if the former president doesn’t die by either natural causes or otherwise after he secured the Republican nomination but between the RNC and election day, “the RNC would convene to select another presidential candidate.”

The left fantasizing about President Trump being assassinated is, of course, nothing new. There have been countless memes and videos posted by the radical left pushing precisely that.

Now, between Goldman and Business Insider, they appear to be signaling to the radical elements of the far-left that such a scenario may not be such a bad idea.

But...January 6th!
