FRANKLIN, TN - A 66-year-old criminal illegal alien from Mexico who worked as a youth soccer coach in Tennessee was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison earlier in July after pleading guilty to multiple felonies related to sexually exploiting young children while they were incapacitated.
According to a press release from the Justice Department, 66-year-old Camilo Campos-Hurtado was sentenced on July 2nd to 30 years in federal prison after pleading guilty in 2025 to four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of CSAM, possession of fraudulent immigration documents, and possession of a stolen or forged identification document.
Authorities began investigating Campos-Hurtado back in 2023 after the Franklin Police Department were alerted to a phone reportedly belonging to him that was found left behind at a local business which contained “explicit videos” of minors.
Authorities later learned that Campos-Hurtado, who reportedly worked as a youth soccer coach, would lure children from local playgrounds under the guise of saying he was recruiting kids for his soccer team. From there, the child predator would incapacitate his victims “with drugs or alcohol before sexually abusing them and recording the assaults,” according to officials.
Much of the sexual abuse carried out by Campos-Hurtado occurred between 2017 and 2021 while he worked as a youth soccer coach, but officials say a forensic analysis of his electronic devices show he’d been producing CSAM as far back as 2013.
Following Campos-Hurtado’s sentencing, Homeland Security Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis stated, “This criminal illegal alien pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting children and child pornography charges after he repeatedly drugged and assaulted children while he was working as a soccer coach. This child predator will now be behind bars for 30 years. If he is ever released, ICE will immediately remove him from the country. He will never again harm another child in our country.”
U.S. Attorney Braden Boucek also issued a statement in light of Campos-Hurtado’s conviction and sentencing, saying, “Those who abuse children, produce or collect child sexual abuse material, or exploit our immigration system to facilitate their crimes will be identified, prosecuted, and held fully accountable. I commend Homeland Security Investigations, the Franklin Police Department, and the vigilant citizen whose actions brought these crimes to light.”
