CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – During a single-day operation in Texas carried out this past May by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), federal immigration authorities with the support of state and local law enforcement were able to apprehend two dozen illegal aliens in Corpus Christi, some of which harbored criminal convictions stateside.
On May 13th, ICE officers, partnered along with state and local authorities, executed a sweeping operation out of Corpus Christi, culminating in the apprehension of 24 illegal aliens who were residing within the area.
Among those arrested during the endeavor included some who hosted prior criminal convictions ranging from narcotics charges to domestic violence assault, including at least one individual who was found to be illegally residing within country after being previously ordered removed from the United States.
Contained within the June press release from ICE were three highlighted illegal aliens apprehended during the operation, who were identified as follows:
- Divya Rana-Maheshbhai, a criminal illegal alien from India, who has a prior conviction of theft.
- Denis Salinas Lara, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras, who has a prior conviction of simple assault/domestic violence and was previously ordered removed from the United States.
- Heriberto Hernandez-Suarez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, who has a prior conviction of driving while intoxicated (DWI).
ICE Harlingen acting Field Office Director Matthew Ochoa issued a statement alongside the issued press release, emphasizing the agency’s ongoing efforts to successfully remove illegal aliens is highly dependent on strong collaborations at the state and local level with law enforcement.
“The outcomes of this operation speak for themselves and are a testament to the outstanding teamwork, professionalism and determination displayed by everyone involved. The joint effort between our partners was instrumental to our success, and I am grateful for the commitment and effort everyone contributed,” Director Ochoa stated.
