SAN ANTONIO, TX - Just remember this: these are the people Democrats and liberal media are trying to protect.
Last week, San Antonio police officers responded to a park on a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old man, Atharva Vyas, being restrained by a man. Officers soon learned that Vyas was a suspect in a brutal assault, and the man restraining him was a good Samaritan, KSAT reported.
One of the victims, Gabriella Perez, 27, told KSAT she and her family were fishing at the park when Vyas appeared from out of the woods, and without provocation started punching her in the face and grabbing her by the hair. During the assault, Perez dropped her three-year-old daughter, whom she was holding. She said she does not know Vyas.
“He tried poking at (her) eyes with his thumb,” Perez said, referencing Vyas’s attack on her daughter. “He hit me. He was a big man. I just remember lying there and looking for [her daughter], and I just see him on top trying to do the thumb.”
Perez then related perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the incident. She said that Vyas started biting her daughter’s face, calling it a scene out of a horror movie.
“I think when everyone was there, I got up and was like, this is like a f*cking zombie movie. Like what the heck,” Perez related.

According to police, the child suffered serious bodily injury, including the loss of two teeth. Both Perez and her daughter were transported to a hospital and evaluated for their injuries.
In the preliminary police report, officers made no mention of drugs. Perez said that someone Vyas was with mentioned he had partaken in drugs.
“One of the people that he came with bought some wax off of a California website, and it said it was legal here in Texas,” Perez said.
Officers credited bystanders with restraining Vyas until their arrival. Perez praised those who held Vyas until he could be taken into custody.
“They did such a selfless thing, and it still helped us, my child and me,” Perez said. “I was kind of freaking out and then finally they came…I wanna say they came right when he was back on top of me. The guy was still attacking me, but they were helping me.”
Vyas was arrested and faces multiple charges, including injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury, assault causing bodily injury, and illegal entry from a foreign nation.
Police said they do not know what the motive for the assault was, if there indeed was one.
A GoFundMe has been set up by the family after the attack, saying that the child suffered significant trauma as a result of the attack.
Since Texas is not a sanctuary state, it is likely Immigration and Customs Enforcement may place a detainer on him, but as of press time, there was no indication this had been done.
