Texas Mom Charged With Murder After Leaving Toddler in Vehicle for Hours

FRISCO, TX – A 27-year-old woman is facing murder charges after authorities in Frisco say the women “intentionally left” her 15-month-old toddler in a hot car for hours earlier in August, leading to the child’s untimely passing.

On August 28th, the Frisco Police Department issued a press release regarding the arrest of Vanessa Esquivel, who authorities say was responsible for her 15-month-old child’s death after being left inside of a hot vehicle “for over two hours” without any functioning air conditioning on August 16th.

During the course of the investigation, authorities learned Esquivel had reportedly driven to her job located along the 3200 block of Preston Road at approximately 2:00 p.m. on the day of the incident, purposefully leaving her child inside of the vehicle as outside temperatures reached as high as 95 degrees. Plano Police were the first to respond to the hospital where the toddler was declared deceased and had looped in Frisco Police considering investigators suspected the victim’s death likely occurred at the suspect’s workplace in Frisco.

Considering the evidence gathered during the investigation, authorities had determined sufficient probable cause existed to arrest Esquivel under suspicion of murder on August 20th due to statutory requirements stipulating cases involving the deaths of children in similar circumstances be treated as such.

Esquivel is currently being housed at the Collin County Jail, with inmate records showing her bond being listed at $250,000. If convicted, Esquivel could face anywhere between five years to life in prison along with a fine of up to $10,000. The accused currently has no upcoming court appearances published as of this writing, nor have any statements been made by the suspect’s counsel or family following her arrest.

I don't understand people like this. What a horribly cruel way to kill your child. How can someone hate a child so much?

Murder is murder!
