As the owner of the largest police news outlet in the world, I rarely take a moment to write articles or op-eds.
There are exceptions – like when I have the opportunity to endorse President Trump on behalf of our media outlet (which, by the way, I’d gladly do again in 2028).
Or when I see a grave injustice that’s happening.
Or when someone messes with my family.
Well, my friends – today, I’m pissed. And I’m here to tell you about it. Because a wolf in sheep’s clothing has been revealed – and his name is Gregory Bovino. And today, we’re going to lay out some truths that a lot of people already know, and everyone should know.
In both a desperate attempt at relevancy and self-promotion, Bovino, who was reportedly under multiple investigations and about to be fired, according to numerous sources, has decided to stab true patriots in the back.
Until Bovino’s “retirement” this month, he’d previously served as a commander-at-large for certain immigration operations. And in his untimely (but long overdue) departure, he accused Border Czar Tom Homan and Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott of “saying nothing” in the wake of the death of a college student in Chicago.
“The Gorman family is burying their daughter this week, and liberal [Customs and Border Protection] commissioner Rodney Scott and capitulator Tommy Homan say and do nothing, which is how we got in this mess in the first place.”
That student, according to DHS officials, was shot and killed by a Venezuelan national who was allowed to remain in America after entering illegally in 2023.
Homan, for his part, responded to the insults with nothing but grace and professionalism, not playing into the childish temper tantrum of the overgrown toddler:
“I appreciate Greg Bovino’s service to the country…the bottom line is, I’ve been fighting sanctuary cities for 10 years, and the fact remains: under my leadership, I’ve deported more illegal aliens than anybody since the Eisenhower administration,” Homan told NewsNation.
“I mean, anybody who thinks ‘Tom Homan’s soft on immigration’ is just wrong. But look, I appreciate Greg’s service. I appreciate him, you know, putting that badge and gun on every day, so I hope he’s happy in retirement,” he added.
Time for some real talk.
First of all, I’m blessed to know Homan in two capacities – both professionally and personally. Let’s start with the professional.
Homan As A Professional
We pulled the numbers, and he’s ALMOST right when he says “more illegal aliens than anybody since the Eisenhower administration”.
Roughly 1.1–1.3 million people were removed or left the U.S. during the peak year of Eisenhower’s immigration crackdown, though the exact number is debated.
When factoring in both deportations and self-deportations, the numbers under President Trump and Tom Homan’s leadership more than DOUBLE that. That would actually make Homan the single most effective weapon ever used in ensuring national security through deportations.
Further… Homan came out of retirement TWICE to serve our nation. And in doing so, I know for a fact that he not only took a significant pay cut, but has also faced direct threats on his own life and the lives of his loved ones – including by the cartels.
So with that in mind, let’s talk about Bovino’s accusations that Homan “does nothing.” This would be a great time to point out that while Biden was in office, Bovino literally stood by and helped RELEASE thousands of illegal aliens each week into the United States. Did he resign in “righteous indignation” then? Did he stand by those beliefs?
Nope. He cowered like a spineless little boy seeking the attention and affection of Daddy Biden. But, he did decide to QUIT under this administration, so forgive me for calling BS on him now “retiring” while bashing President Trump and Border Czar Homan, who are ACTUALLY being effective and continuing to carry out what Americans overwhelming voted for.
Not only does President Trump greatly respect and admire Homan, whom he routinely refers to as “central casting,” but he knows that Tom is well-respected by many and has the knowledge, experience, and authenticity to be effective in leading major efforts, resolving issues, and achieving goals.
It's the same reason why the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Associatin (FLEOA) selected Tom Homan as the "man of the year" for their annual awards event last year (and Todd Lyons as their recipient this year).
This is apparent by the President’s recent decisions to bring Tom in to help lead budget negotiations, which was well received by members of BOTH political parties, and to designate him to lead efforts to assign U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers/agents to help TSA minimize the long wait times and security vulnerabilities at airports nationwide due to the Democrat’s shutdown.
Going back further, since 2018, FLEOA and Law Enforcement Today have brought film crews to the border and to major cities countless times to show the true stories of the impact of the border crisis on Americans. I can’t even tell you how many times we’ve filmed with Tom Homan and had him show us first-hand just how significant a crisis we were facing.

And every time we filmed with him – without fail – he was treated like a CELEBRITY by every single border patrol agent and law enforcement officer. The man isn’t just a humble servant – he’s a warrior that’s viewed as a LEGEND.
On the Other Hand, Bovino
As for Bovino? From pretty much everything I have heard, he’s far more infamous than famous. Even the President, when asked about Bovino during the incoming Secretary’s swearing-in ceremony, didn’t appear to know who he was by name. He knew there was a guy though hurting, not helping, the havoc that unfolded quickly in Minneapolis, which is why the President deployed Homan to deescalate it while obtaining unprecedented cooperation from local law enforcement, which is exactly what he did—in just about two weeks, like the pro that he is.
We’ve worked with thousands of Border Patrol agents over the years. And not once did we hear a SINGLE agent speak positively about Bovino. Just the opposite actually, including with regard to his tactics, attitude, opinions, and leadership style.
I never thought I’d quote an article from the liberal rag “Time”, but there’s also this--
I figured it was the typical BS that a leftist fake news outlet would drop to bash the Trump administration... until right around that time it was reported that Bovino allegedly made a comment bashing a Trump-appointed Jewish prosecutor who doesn’t work on the Sabbath.Amid a broader wave of backlash against Trump’s immigration crackdown, Bovino has faced public controversy and clashes.
Among them: his clothing. As the situation in Minneapolis escalated, a long olive green overcoat Bovino has been pictured wearing drew comparisons to Nazi uniforms.
“Greg Bovino dressed up as if he literally went on eBay and purchased SS garb. Greg Bovino, secret police, private army, masked men, people disappearing quite literally, no due process,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom recently said.
Multiple German media outlets, including Der Spiegel and Süddeutsche Zeitung, have also said the coat resembles the look of a Nazi officer. In response to the comparisons, Bovino has said he has owned the coat for over 25 years and got it from CBP.
Agents I spoke with on the condition of keeping their identities anonymous said it’s “par for the course”.
“This man makes every Border Patrol agent look bad. He embraces the stereotypes that the liberal media creates surrounding us. His language about illegal immigrants is dehumanizing, racist, and worse. He was never a solution – he was the problem. The best thing to happen for Border Patrol was for President Trump to cut that cancer out.”
More about that… I have spoken extensively with men and women employed by the government who have had direct experience with Bovino and conveying here what has been presented to me while protecting their identities. Here are just SOME of the concerns about Bovino, in his “commander at-large” role, that they raised with me:
- Multiple CBP agents were complaining internally that he was going to get someone killed and that agents across the country were disgusted with his tactics. He was described as "heartless, callous, putting the lives of law enforcement officers on the line to help with his own optics".
- Agents reported that he would have people let him know when media was out on the street somewhere and then he would go deploy there to stir things up.
- Numerous sources indicated that Bovino had already asked the DHS Secretary to reassign him of Minnesota before the President decided to send Homan.
Interestingly, according to numerous high-level sources, Bovino was reporting directly to Secretary Noem and Corey Lewandowski - and so Homan, Scott, and Todd Lyons (acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement) had zero control over Bovino, despite efforts to do so.
Here’s where things get really interesting. It’s time for a reality check.
Bovino was one of 21 USBP Chief Patrol Agents. His assignment to lead, or help lead, any national operation(s) was a temporary assignment. When he was no longer needed in that capacity, Bovino returned to his regular job in El Centro, CA.
Despite some reports, he was not demoted. He was not disciplined. He was not asked to retire. He was not punished in any way. The only “demotion,” apparently, was his ego.
The attention-seeking diva’s 15 minutes of fame were extinguished because he spiraled from securing the Nation to securing glory shots of himself, while unfairly diminishing the reputation and credibility of immigration enforcement agencies.
For those of you thinking I’m being harsh – here’s a simple exercise for you. Ask any respected leader at CBP--what operational benefit comes from putting Border Patrol boats on the river in downtown Chicago? Border Patrol boats on the Chicago River? Seriously? Why were those agents forced to be literal sitting ducks? For Instagram reels to boost a little man’s ego… not for tactics.
The Chicago Mess
Speaking of Chicago - listen, I’m a media guy. I like powerful, cinematic footage of helicopters and warriors and gangs getting their asses kicked. So, I’m not going to lie – the stuff we saw come out of the Chicago operation looked great to me and to a lot of us, until I gained some insight into how the operation was executed.
So, the “raid” where Bovino had his people rappel out of a chopper onto the roof of an apartment building “run” by Tren de Agua? Yeah – it was not really what it appeared.
First of all, for the operation, Bovino made it VERY clear that he didn’t report to ICE Director Todd Lyons. As reported by AOL (yeah, I never thought I’d quote those liberal hacks either – yet here we are):
But it’s even worse than that. Here’s what I’ve since learned.
Bovino, serving as “commander at-large” for certain large scale immigration enforcement operations in the U.S., preferred large-scale sweeps and “declined” the Administration’s guidance for “targeted” immigration enforcement operations with a surge of officers in Chicago, where officials and protesters accused him of leading a violent assault against immigrants and citizens alike, as also reported by NBC News.
Todd Lyons, the acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement told Bovino to focus on “targeted operations” in Chicago and arrest only people already on federal law enforcement’s radar for immigration violations and other laws, according to records.
But Bovino said he “declined” the directive and said he reports to a top aide for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
“Mr. Lyons seemed intent that CBP conduct targeted operations for at least two weeks before transitioning to full scale immigration enforcement,” Bovino wrote in an email to Homeland Security officials in September. “I declined his suggestion. We ended the conversation shortly thereafter.”
Trump’s former commander-at-large for surges of border patrol officers in Democratic-led reportedly refused ICE’s directive to perform ‘targeted’ arrests in Chicago (AFP via Getty Images).
He said that Lyons indicated he “was in charge,” but Bovino said he reports to Corey Lewandowski, an unpaid special government employee working closely with Noem.
That email appears to contradict recent public comments from Noem, who claimed that officers are performing targeted immigration enforcement operations “in every situation.”
“In every situation, we’re doing targeted enforcement,” she said from the White House last month. “If we are on a target and during an operation, there may be individuals surrounding that criminal that we may be asking who they are and why they’re there and having them validate their identity.”
In that helicopter raid in Chicago that I referenced above, only ONE person ASSOCIATED with Tren de Agua was arrested – and it wasn’t even a MEMBER of the gang. But you know who Bovino wanted arrested?
CHILDREN who are United States citizens, according to DHS sources. Bovino was allegedly screaming at ICE law enforcement who were on scene strictly for the transportation of criminals to detention centers to make such arrests. ICE reportedly told Bovino that policy is very clear – they absolutely will not arrest citizens, much less children – and absolutely would NOT send them to detention centers.
Bovino’s response? “Then I’m re-writing the policy.”
Also, with regard to operations in Chicago, I have heard other accounts of Bovino causing more risks than responsible resolutions. In another instance, one agent told me on the condition of keeping their identity confidential:
“Our agents had worked extremely diligently to de-escalate a major situation Bovino was a part of in Chicago. Once the situation was handled, they were all ready to go out the back door quietly. Bovino insisted on going out the front door. Agents let him know it was a dangerous move that would put lives in jeopardy. He made it clear they were going out the front because there were news cameras there, and he wanted to be seen on camera. The situation quickly descended into chaos again."
Operational Leadership
American security isn’t a movie where a leader in real life who lacks the respect of the men and women alongside him suddenly becomes a superhero celebrity. It’s a strategic operation that involves brains, support, and putting the safety of those who serve and civilians FIRST. President Trump obviously knows this.
Accordingly, Homan was sent to Minnesota because Bovino, under the direct command of Noem and Lewandowski, was a substantive cause of/contributor to the chaos that unraveled with unlawful agitators wreaking havoc on federal law enforcement operations and in communities, which left most officers/agents very frustrated and concerned that they would be misrepresented as the “fall guys” for the chaos.
The President did not like what he was seeing and took smart, decisive action to regain control and operations. This is one of many, many reasons why he is the greatest President. He was not comfortable with what was going on under his command and made changes that needed to happen to restore law and order and enable immigration enforcement operations to continue without all the chaos.
I find it interesting that Bovino would attack Scott as a “liberal” and Homan as a “capitulator.” They were both selected by President Trump not based on politics, although they are both soundly loyal to the President, but based on decades of service and leadership, delivering amazing results for the safety and security of our country.
On the other hand, it seems more so that Bovino is the one helping those on the left end of the political spectrum. Now before you scream "conspiracy theory" or “traitor,” allow me to explain:
Under Bovino, we saw communities get massively spun up, the harassment and impediment of federal law enforcement operations, and in Minnesota, two fatalities during the unrest. Then what happened?
The national conversation and debate shifted. Despite COUNTLESS professional and lawful interactions that ICE / CBP have with the public daily, Bovino's tactics and attempts to weaponize ICE and CBP law enforcement, backed by the leadership that enabled him, empowered the Left and media to use a miniscule number of concerning/offensive incidents that occurred under his command to rally liberal politicians to try and disable ICE and CBP.
One could argue that Bovino significantly bruised the integrity and reputation of ICE/CBP and has diminished public trust in these agencies, essentially overnight, that now they now unfairly need to work to repair. And in doing so, he gave the Democrats ammunition to misrepresent the truth about ICE/CBP operations and unfairly vilify these critical agencies.
This also handed them justification to shut down DHS and subject the agencies to the possibility of legislation being passed by the Democrats that will put limits on border security and immigration enforcement for years to come.
This is unacceptable given there are no major institutional, systemic problems at these agencies that warrant legislation (especially through an appropriations bill) or else calls for “major reforms” would have been pursued prior to President Trump taking office again. It is also ridiculous because if ICE/CBP were so chronically rogue and unlawful and not executing a critical mission for our Nation, then border security/immigration enforcement wouldn’t have been a top issue for the majority of American voters.
So WHO is helping liberals more?
Homan On the Personal
I mentioned earlier that I know Homan personally. He’s more than just a hero to me. He’s a Godly man and leader whom I’m proud to call a friend. Let me explain to you why.
While Bovino sits there bashing Homan, accusing him of not caring about Angel Families, I can honestly tell you that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Homan has personally met with HUNDREDS of them. I’ve seen him cry with them and pray with them. And he made a promise to all of those Angel families that he would NEVER let them down. THAT is why he came out of retirement a second time. And, I can tell you first hand, I’ve only heard praise and gratitude for Tom from the many Angel Families I have engaged with for years.
Mathew Silverman, the National President of FLEOA, had this to say:
“Last year, when our foundation honored Tom as the ‘man of the year’, it wasn’t just because of his storied leadership. It was because of who he is as a man. He didn’t just promise Angel Families he’d always have their back – he also promised the same of ICE and Border Patrol agents. And the man has never wavered or backed down.
He’s a beacon of hope in a dark world. He’s a rare kind of individual – one that truly embodies selflessness and managed to be a hardened warrior and a gentle, loving, and compassionate grandfather not just to his own family – but to all of America’s children.”
Big Blue Bash and Leadership Values
On November 11, 2025 – Veterans’ Day – we hosted our annual fundraiser for the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Foundation at Mar-A-Lago. It was called the Big Blue Bash. The funds raised help support the families of wounded and fallen officers.
We had a surprise presentation at the gala – we honored a little girl, 9, as the “woman of the year”. Two years ago… she held the hand of her little sister, who was about to turn four… as her little sister died. She kept telling her, “I love you”. Her sister was killed by an illegal alien.

Tom Homan and ICE Director Todd Lyons, with tears in their eyes, joined me on the stage to honor that little girl. To hold her and her family. To cry with them and lift them up in prayer. You can see the video below.
Tom and Todd have never been about “destroying families.” Their mission and objective have been singular, powerful, and impactful – PROTECT AMERICAN FAMILIES while treating ALL families with dignity and respect. And you do that by removing the worst of the worst.
I once described Homan in an interview as reminding me of King David. King David was a warrior who slew Goliath and would lead armies into battle. He was a badass. But he was also soft and gentle. He played the harp and wrote poetry. Just don’t mess with the guy – because he will SLAY the enemy.
THAT is my friend, Tom Homan. Homan - the man who is admired, cherished, and respected by every single law enforcement officer I’ve ever spoken with – whether it be at the local, state, or federal level.
Leadership at CBP
Mathew Silverman and I also spent some time earlier this month with Scott in his office, and I couldn’t help but notice the words on top of a planning board: “GOD IS GREAT.”
During that meeting, we spoke a lot about our faith and how leadership comes when you submit yourself to the authority of God.

Let me tell you - in our meeting with Scott, there wasn't talk about "Democrats or Republicans." There was talk about safety and security of the American people - regardless of how they vote. And we have had the same experience with Homan and Lyons.
In our meeting, Scott made it very clear that he answers to God first and seeks to do whatever it takes, under the authority assigned by God to President Trump, to keep our nation safe. At no point in that meeting did he disparage ANYONE, but instead spoke about the incredible men and women that serve under him and how he values and admires each of them. And, how he appreciates President Trump’s strong leadership and commitment to national security, public safety, and our country’s prosperity.
Before departing with the Commissioner, we shared something personal and impactful that we’ve also shared with Tom Homan, Todd Lyons, and many of the other great leaders selected by President Trump: prayer.
We recommitted our lives, our families, our actions, and our work to the power and glory of God. We prayed over the men and women who serve our Nation. We didn’t pray for more TV cameras or more Facebook views or more Instagram likes.
In each of these moments of quiet prayer – out of the spotlight – we humbled ourselves before God and asked that he use us for his glory and our good.
“I’ve been blessed to work for a lot of incredible leaders during my two decades as a federal agent,” said Silverman. “But the quiet strength and leadership of Scott… the humility of a man who just wants to serve… is something rare and unique. It’s no wonder that the men and women who are privileged to serve under the leadership of Scott and Homan sing their praises.”
President Trump is, without question, the greatest president of our lifetime. And while he’s had a lot of incredible picks in cabinet and leadership positions – Homan, Scott, and Lyons are among the best.

Take note, Bovino, because it’s obvious that you’re going to milk this fake retirement for all of the media exposure you can get. So let me give you some free advice.
Leadership isn’t what happens when the cameras are rolling. It’s what happens when you’re cleaning up the mess of the politicians and media whores who didn’t/don’t actually give a shit about agents, officers, or the mission—in order to defend and advance the law enforcement workforce and its operations.
It’s what you do not for the credit or the kudos to promote yourself… but rather for the best interests of the people and country you’ve vowed to protect – that you believe in so deeply that you make selfless sacrifices, even those that impact the family and life you cherish deeply.
True leadership and character isn’t about walking around in a costume, screaming at and gassing people for TikTok views. It’s being willing to humble yourself before God and surrender yourself to serving Him for the righteous purpose He created you for.
It’s when you can be punched in the face and say like Homan did in response to Bovino’s insult: “I appreciate him, you know, putting that badge and gun on every day, so I hope he’s happy in retirement.”
Like Homan, I also appreciate the service of anyone who puts on a badge and a gun every day. But quite frankly, I couldn't care less about how Bovino fares in his retirement.
Because when you go out of your way to undermine President Trump’s agenda and values… when you disparage true leaders delivering real results for our country… when you lose the respect and support of many people you were to lead and serve … and when you put your own ego above “honor first” when executing the mission to safeguard the homeland because you would rather pander for social media “likes” – I don’t mind if the door hits you hard in the ass on the way out.
I guess that’s just one more thing that makes Tom Homan a better man than me… and a better man than you, Bovino.
