NEW YORK, NY - Three illegal immigrants have been shot and two of them have died with the third clinging to life following what New York Detectives believe are connected attacks specifically targeting the foreign nationals. The two separate shootings occurred in proxmity to a illegal immigrant shelter outside the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
According to The New York Post, the first victim, a man in his thirties, was shot in the chest and arm at approximately 10:44 p.m. Sunday. He was transported to nearby Methodist Hospital where he later died, police and other sources told the outlet.
Approximately seven minutes later, two more men were shot outside of a shelter housing illegal immigrants, just under a quarter of a mile from where the first victim was attacked per the NYPD.
The final two victims, the first aged 47 and the second estimated to be in his thirties, were transported to an area hospital where the elder was pronounced dead from a shot to the head. The final victim is in critical condition having been shot several times.
Speaking with reporters on a preliminary basis, the Post's sources said that all three victims were illegal immigrants and the attacks appear connected. Law enforcement is reportedly investigating a possible connection to the El Tren de Aragua, a major Venezuelan gang implicated in previous attacks at New York shelters and the shooting of two NYPD officers as reported by Law Enforcement Today in June.
