HOUSTON, TX - Shocking ring footage obtained by ABC13 shows a suspect running over a victim twice before kissing his limp body and stabbing him nine times.
On Friday, May 3rd, the victim, identified as Steven Anderson, was walking down a street on the way to picking up his mail when a car came at him full speed ahead. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 20-year-old Karon Fisher, a male to female transgender. After the car hit Anderson the first time, the footage shows the car reversing and hitting him again.
WTOV9 reported that one neighbor called 911 to report the incident while another ran out a pillow for Anderson's head. Before first responders were on scene, the ring camera shows Fisher coming back to where Anderson was laying on the ground, straddling him and kissing him before stabbing him nine times.
Court records identify Fisher as a man, but the suspect was described by officers as a woman. Neighbors watched on as Fisher walked away from the scene as if nothing happened, leaving Anderson there to die. One neighbor told ABC13, "It's very disturbing. I have kids here; they could have been out here playing and imagine them."
Video shows Fisher trying to get into another car while actively talking to witnesses. When she was unable to get into the car, she simply leaped over Anderson's body and walked away. In a Facebook post, the Houston Police Department (HPD) confirmed that Fisher has been charged with murder and taken into custody.
The news release says officers responded to reports of a person who failed to stop and render aid to another person outside a home in Houston. HPD said, "Officers learned the victim was found unresponsive in the driveway. He had suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced deceased." Witnesses told police about Fisher's whereabouts at a nearby location and she was detained and questioned by detectives.
Fisher is being held on a $2 million bond. Police have not immediately confirmed Anderson's identity, citing pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. However, they did confirm that he was 64-years-old.
One neighbor said, "Broad daylight. People around every time and it happened right under our noses." A handful of the neighbors said that talking and reliving the incident again is too hard. One woman said she hasn't been to work and is trying to find a therapist to speak with about this traumatic murder she witnessed.
Records show that Fisher was on community supervision for five years for evading arrest in 2023. Records also show that Fished was charged with prostitution in 2021, but that case was later dismissed. On the same day as Anderson's murder, Fisher was also charged with assaulting a staff member at the hospital.
According to the DailyMail, law enforcement sources close to the case said that the footage is some of the most horrifying they've seen in their careers. The statement released by HPD indicates that Anderson did not die by either impact and was killed as a result of the nine knife wounds by Fisher. The investigation remains ongoing.
