DALLAS, TX - Paige Neumann, Turning Point USA’s Chapter President at the University of Texas, Dallas, was violently assaulted by a "transgender" man wielding a large bicycle lock as a melee weapon, striking the young woman in the back of the head and neck. Another member of the TPUSA team, Secretary Grace Guandolo, was also struck while recording the tabling event at UT Dallas, destroying her phone.
Police identified the suspect in the attack as Liam Thanh Tam Nguyen, who uses the alias "Alyssa" and can be seen in video footage taking his bicycle and swinging a large metal bike lock at the person recording. Nguyen was later taken into custody and was booked at Collin County Jail on two felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to The Dallas Observer. He is also facing additional charges for attempting to take a weapon from an officer, misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, and two counts of criminal mischief. Fox News reported.
In a post to X, TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk shared a video of the disturbing attack and described it, writing, “Our Chapter President, Paige Neumann, and her secretary Grace were just assaulted while tabling at the University of Texas at Dallas. The attacker took a metal bike lock and slammed it against Paige's head (pictured below), hitting her so hard that it completely shattered Paige's phone. It's unclear if the perpetrator is female or trans. Paige has filed a police report with University Police who are thankfully taking this matter seriously and are currently searching for the individual. Thankfully, Paige and her chapter VP Grace (whose phone was also destroyed) are both physically doing okay.”
Speaking with Fox host Laura Ingraham on The Ingraham Angle, Neumann described the attack and confirmed that she did suffer a head injury. "It did hit the back of my head," Neumann said. "That is exactly what happened. It hit me almost on my neck.”
She added, “If he would have aimed a little bit lower, I could have been paralyzed. I think he wanted to kill me."
Paige told the outlet that she and her team didn’t take any action to provoke Nguyen, stating she said “zero words to him at all" prior to the attack. "I [was] just talking with my officers as I do every week," Neumann told Ingraham. "I said zero words to him, and he started attacking me. He swung the bike lock. It hit our table, our phones were destroyed and my head was severely injured." She added that she’s still in pain following the assault and plans to seek medical treatment. "It does hurt. … I'm going to get X-rays done tomorrow to make sure that I'm OK, but it definitely hurts," she concluded.
