Unhinged left: Biden should 'dismantle the Supreme Court' over presidential immunity ruling

Tell us you are clueless about the United States Constitution without telling us you are.

Considering some leftists claim that if former President Trump is reelected next month, he will become a dictator, it’s hilarious that these same people are suggesting that Biden shred the Constitution.

In an appearance on “Real Time” with Bill Maher, unhinged far-left author Fran Liebowitz said Joe Biden should “dissolve” the Supreme Court, even though Article III of the Constitution says, “The judicial power of the United States, shall be vested in one Supreme court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.”

According to the New York Post, Liebowitz, 73, slammed the Supreme Court in an interview with Maher, referring to it as “Trump’s harem,” particularly criticizing the court for the presidential immunity ruling involving the lawfare campaign against Trump.

“It’s so disgraceful, this court, that it shouldn’t even be allowed to be called the Supreme Court,” Liebowitz railed. “It isn’t. It’s an insult to Motown to call it the Supreme Court. It’s not even a court…basically it’s a harem. It’s Trump’s harem.”

“Motown?” Oh, a reference to the 1960s female musical act, The Supremes. How clever.

“When they passed that law, that ruling, where they said ‘you’re not the president, you’re the king,’ which is what that ruling is, you can do whatever you want, you can never be held responsible, I thought, ‘You know, Biden is still the president. No one seems to notice,” Liebowitz, who may or may not have been sober, said. “But I think Biden should dissolve the Supreme Court.”

Maher gave Liebowitz some mild pushback; “Dissolve the Supreme Court? Come on.”

“I’m the president, I’m the king now, like you said, and go home,” Liebowitz replied.

Maher then replied in a manner indicating he thought she was off the rails.

“Okay. Good to see you’re a centrist,” Maher replied sarcastically before changing the topic.

Liebowitz clearly has not read the ruling; if she has, she is illiterate. The Supreme Court ruled that a former president enjoys substantial immunity for official acts while in office but not for unofficial acts. Any act that is clearly illegal would be an unofficial act and subject to the legal process.

The presidential immunity case is essential because someone like Barack Obama, who used drones to target enemies of the US and instead killed civilians, could be subject to criminal prosecution. Likewise, when Biden ordered a drone strike in the aftermath of the attack that killed thirteen service members in Afghanistan that killed an innocent family, he could also be subject to criminal prosecution for what was an official act. No president now or in the future would be free from possible criminal prosecution for decisions they made under the color of their office.

In Trump’s case, the trial judge in the lower court case against the former president will have to hold hearings to determine whether the charges against him were based on official acts by him when he was still president or unofficial ones.

Claiming that the ruling makes Trump (or Biden) a “king” is absurd and is the height of hysteria.

While Trump celebrated the ruling, calling it a “big win for our Constitution and for democracy,” Biden called it a “dangerous precedent.” He also called for reforms of the high court, including term limits and a new code of conduct. He also suggested a new constitutional amendment that limits presidential immunity.

This isn’t the first time Liebowitz made insane statements. In 2019 for example, she told Maher on “Real Time” that impeachment wasn’t a severe enough punishment for President Trump.

“Certainly, he deserves to be impeached. I mean, impeachment is just the beginning of what he deserves. Not even scratching the surface of what he deserves,” she said. “Whenever I think about this and what he really deserves, I think, ‘We should turn him over to the Saudis, you know, his buddies. The same Saudis who got rid of that reporter, you know. Maybe they can do the same to him.”

What the clearly impaired Liebowitz was suggesting was that Trump should be tortured and beheaded. She was apparently referring to the 2018 murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post reporter, who was tortured and dismembered with a bone saw, apparently under orders of the Saudi government, the Post reported.

Understandably, Liebowitz later apologized for her disgusting comments after receiving backlash. Yet, she said it in the first place.

Former radio talk show host Michael Savage once said that “liberalism is a mental disorder.”

Meet Fran Liebowitz.
