Violent Antifa ringleader convicted in Portland for attacking conservative activists

PORTLAND, OR - Alissa Eleanor Azar, 33, an Antifa ringleader, was convicted on charges of felony riot and second-degree disorderly conduct by a Portland jury on Wednesday for violent crimes committed during a 2021 flag-waving and voter registration event in Clackamas County.

As reported by The Post Millennial, conservative activists hosted the event at Clackamas County Park on June 18th, 2021 and Azar, allegedly in the guise of working as an "independent journalist" was captured on video rushing a woman and spraying her with bear mace.

In a post to X along with an Antifa flyer leading up to the event, Azar wrote, "Don’t forget about the counter demonstration this afternoon,” she called upon her supporters to "Rise against hate, stand up to fascism." The Antifa members she urged to action, came to the event armed. The banner she shared read (censored), "F**K PROUD BOYS, F**K NAZIS, F**K YOUR FLAG, RISE AGAINST HATE"

Azar was identified by prosecutors in video from several angles rushing in and spraying bear mace at a woman as someone is heard to yell "Mace the female!" She was eventually arrested nearly three years later on May 2nd.

Post Millennial Editor-at-Large Andy Ngô reported via X on May 3rd, "Hamas supporter and violent Portland Antifa member Alissa Eleanor Azar was arrested at the May 2 police response to the @Portland_State siege of the library and the riot on campus. "Most of those involved were not students. Many were part of the 2020 riots and some are confirmed Antifa members. The library is severely damaged inside as the far-left extremists smashed up the place and stole rare books. Outside, rioters assaulted police, journalists and the public."

Ngô added that Azar was quickly released from jail without bail after her arrest and has "repeatedly charged with violent felonies in Multnomah County in cases that are dropped by @DAMikeSchmidt (Portland District Attorney Mike Schmidt)."

Post Millennial noted that the other charges Ngô referred to came in December 2022 when Azar was charged with felony robbery, felony assault, tampering with physical evidence, and theft among other charges related to an attack on a journalist in August of that year which took place in downtown Portland. DA Schmidt called upon a judge to dismiss the case in 2023.
