Virginia Democrat Gov. Abigail Spanberger Protects Illegal Alien Wanted for Homicide in El Salvador

RESTON, VA - Virginia Democrat Gov. Abigail Spanberger ran as a moderate. However, since being inaugurated, she has done a complete 180 and is governing more like a far-left loon. One of her first actions was to overturn former Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s 287(g) arrangement mandating the Commonwealth cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

One of those whom Spanberger was protecting is Marco Tulio Lopez-Romero, 44.

Lopez-Romero is an illegal alien who entered the United States in July 2016 under the Obama administration near McAllen, Texas. On December 6, 2017, authorities in El Salvador issued an arrest warrant charging him with homicide, ICE said in a news release.

ICE officials learned that Lopez-Romero was in the Washington, D.C. area and worked to locate and arrest him. In the last week of March, ICE arrested him outside his home. He remains in ICE custody pending completion of removal proceedings.

“Marco Tulio Lopez-Romero is exactly the type of illegal alien fugitive that ICE will not allow to roam free in our communities,” said ERO Field Office Director Robert Guadian. “Shockingly, the media would consider Lopez to be a ‘non-criminal’ because he lacks a rap sheet in the U.S., despite the fact that authorities in El Salvador have issued a warrant for him on charges of aggravated homicide. The men and women of ICE Washington, D.C. will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing criminal alien offenders from the streets of our Washington, D.C., and Virginia neighborhoods.”
