Virginia: ICE Nabs Child Rapists, Killers, and MS-13 Gang Members in the Wake of "No Kings" Whine-Fests

WASHINGTON, DC - The Trump administration continues to get violent illegal aliens off the streets, including picking up several child rapists, MS-13 gang members, and murderers in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Department of Homeland Security announced in a release

“These arrests of child rapists, murderers, and gang members in Virginia show the effects of the border crisis and sanctuary policies have extended well beyond border states,” said Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “For far too long, weak politicians have allowed millions of criminal illegal aliens to flood our country and victimize innocent Americans. President Trump and Secretary Noem delivered the most secure border in American history and unleashed ICE to arrest the worst of the worst to make America safe again.”

Among those arrested was Rick Martinez Lopez, a pedophile who was released onto the streets due to Richmond’s sanctuary policies, despite ICE having a detainer on him. Martinez was arrested on October 14. An illegal alien pedophile from Guatemala, Martinez has multiple convictions in Virginia, including for sexual assault of a child, failure to register as a sex offender, and probation violation.

In August of this year, ICE lodged an arrest detainer on Martinez with the Richmond City Jail, which announced they would not honor the detainer, and they allowed the child predator back onto the streets of Richmond to offend again.

That enraged McLaughlin, who stated the following:

“To allow a convicted pedophile, registered sex offender, [and] illegal alien to freely roam Virginia streets is barbaric,” she said. “It is unconscionable to think sanctuary policies and political activists would rather protect this sicko than our own nation’s children. Every sanctuary politician in Virginia is putting the safety of Americans at risk with their dangerous and lawless policies.”

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger favors allowing illegal aliens to roam the streets of Virginia.

Another upstanding illegal criminal is Enrique Mendoza Flores, aka “El Calaco,” an MS-13 gang leader who is wanted in El Salvador for aggravated homicide and illicit associations. He was previously arrested in the U.S. and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.

On October 2, Mendoza Flores was arrested in Alexandria, Virginia, due to an active arrest warrant in El Salvador. He is listed in the Salvadoran National Police's “Most Wanted Gang Members” program.

“Our brave men and women of ICE arrested one of El Salvador’s Most Wanted Fugitives off the streets of Virginia. This MS-13 gang member was wanted for murder,” Assistant Secretary of DHS McLaughlin said. “These are the types of criminal illegal aliens that sanctuary politicians across Virginia are protecting as they demonize law enforcement. President Trump and Secretary Noem are not going to allow gang members to terrorize American citizens.”

Up next on the ICE illegal criminal alien hit parade is Luis Bautista-Perez, an illegal from Mexico, who is subject to an active arrest warrant for aggravated homicide issued by the Government of Mexico, according to a DHS press release. ICE conducted a targeted enforcement action in Sterling, Virginia, leading to Bautista-Perez’s arrest. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

“Luis Bautista-Perez evaded justice by fleeing Mexico and hiding in plain sight in Virginia. Thanks to the brave men and women of ICE, this wanted murderer is off the streets of Virginia,” said McLaughlin. “Politicians like [Chuck] Schumer, [J.B.] Pritzker, and sanctuary politicians across Virginia protect these criminal aliens over the safety of Americans. Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, this country is no longer a haven for violent, dangerous criminals.”

It should be noted that due to Senate Minority Leader Schumer and the Democrats, ICE agents are currently working without pay due to the government shutdown.”

Ricardo Leonel Mejia, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador, has had an immigration detainer lodged against him by ICE. Mejia was convicted of repeatedly raping an 11-year-old child in Virginia. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison following his conviction.

“Ricardo Leonel Mejia’s crimes are unthinkable. This monstrous individual repeatedly raped an 11-year-old child in her own home,” McLaughlin said. “ICE lodged an arrest detainer to ensure that after his prison sentence, he is removed from our country and not able to prey on any more innocent American children. The Biden Administration marked this heinous criminal as a non-enforcement priority, allowing him to roam free and commit these sex crimes. These are the type of depraved criminals our brave ICE law enforcement officers are arresting and removing from our country every single day.”

Finally, two illegal aliens from Honduras, 17 years old, have had immigration detainers lodged against them after they were involved in a highway shooting along I-295 in Virginia on October 5.

Police responded to a shots-fired call at around 5 pm on that date after a 911 caller reported possible gunfire along the highway northbound at mile marker 34, according to a DHS press release.

A Hanover County Sheriff’s deputy, conducting a nearby traffic stop, saw a silver BMW that matched the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on I-295. The deputy began following the BMW, which sped off, prompting the deputy to pursue. The Virginia State Police were called to assist with the investigation.

The two suspects were arrested shortly thereafter. They were charged with shooting from a vehicle, possession of a firearm under age 18, possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, and reckless handling of a firearm.

The detainer was lodged with the Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center in Williamsburg, where the two banditos are being held.

“These criminal alien thugs whipped around in their BMW with complete neglect for the safety of Virginians when they decided to open fire on an interstate highway,” McLaughlin said. “These illegal aliens were released unvetted by the Biden Administration into our country. ICE lodged an arrest detainer to ensure these public safety threats are not released back onto Virginia’s roads. We are not going to allow criminal illegal aliens to terrorize American citizens.”

ICE said the two entered the U.S. illegally as unaccompanied minors and were released into the U.S. by the Biden administration.

These are the people whom the “No Kings” protesters want to protect.
