Walz's ties to Chinese Communist Party may be part of Chinese influence operation threatening our national security

WASHINGTON, DC - Law Enforcement Today has received a disturbing breakdown from a verified but anonymous source who examined Governor Tim Walz’s financial disclosures. The findings are alarming, and we have chosen to keep the source anonymous for their own protection. 

As previously reported by LET, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has renewed its request to FBI Director Christopher Wray for “all information, documents and communications” related to Governor Tim Walz’s interactions with the Chinese Communist Party. This comes after Wray initially ignored the committee's request.

The committee's hearing on September 24 revealed experts detailing a Chinese Communist Party influence campaign that targets explicitly U.S. lawmakers and critical industries, a threat that cannot be ignored. 

According to records, Walz made approximately 30 trips to the People’s Republic of China beginning in 1993, when he was a teacher organizing class trips for his students. The House committee found that the Chinese government covered all of Walz’s expenses. In fact, Walz said he went to “China dozens of times” during a 2016 congressional hearing, later narrowing that number down to “30 times.”

Given the controversy surrounding those trips, the Harris-Walz campaign now claims it was “closer to 15 times,” raising significant concerns about the potential impact of Chinese influence on the campaign, as reported by Fox News.

One area of concern disclosed by the committee was that while working in Congress, Walz helped secure over $2 million for the Hormel Institute in Minnesota, a research center with close ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is widely believed by most to be the source of the COVID-19 virus. In fact, Hormel’s former director, Dr. Zigang Dong, was one of Walz’s donors. 

The financial disclosures raise a lot of questions. While Walz’s family income has remained pretty consistent over the past decades at about $211,00 annually, including income and investment income, between 2006 and 2010, Walz incurred a significant amount of debt, ranging from $45,000 to $115,000, according to sources. Despite that, Walz continued making trips to China, or more accurately, according to our source, it “was extremely intense.” 

A former NSA analyst, John Schindler, called Walz an “extremely vulnerable and tempting” target for Chinese intelligence at the time. Sometime later, Walz’s debts disappeared, but it is unknown how that occurred. 

Walz also has had close ties with the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, which the U.S. State Department would later call a “Beijing-based organization whose efforts are aimed at exerting direct and malign influence on state and local leaders to advance China’s global agenda.” 

Thus far, the FBI has shown little interest in looking at Walz’s possible connections to the Chinese Communist Party. At the same time, the agency concentrates its efforts on parents attending school board meetings and those attending traditional Catholic mass. It is obvious which poses a more significant threat to our national security. Trent England, executive director of Save Our States, believes Walz may be a participant in Beijing’s coordinated operation. 

At the border, some estimates are that over 1.8 million illegal Chinese aliens crossed into the U.S. last year alone, while official numbers are much lower. However, out of all the unlawful Chinese crossing into the U.S., only about 100,000 of them have received deportation orders, posing a significant threat to our national security. 

The current status of the border is ripe for a country such as China, intent on undermining the U.S. and doing us harm. Chinese intelligence agents are undoubtedly among the illegals entering the country, which allows them freedom to carry out their nefarious mission. 

China is the leading producer and supplier of the lethal drug fentanyl. In 2022, over 73,000 Americans died from fentanyl overdoses. That far surpassed the number of people killed in motor vehicle crashes that same year, which numbered just over 42,000, according to NHTSA. 

Given the exceptionally close election between Trump and Harris, Governor Tim Walz’s cozy relationship with the Chinese Communist Party is deeply concerning. Critics have said that his past actions, including bailing on his military unit when it was deployed to the Middle East, raise serious doubts about whether he has the best interests of the United States in mind. 

As our source told LET, Walz is “one of the few remaining Chinese lobbyists in American politics who will not restrict the flow of migrants from the PRC to the United States.” 

Based on current estimates, four years of Harris-Walz, continuing the sham border policies in place under Biden-Harris, could see over seven million Chinese entering the United States, many or most of whom will be spies or, worse, Chinese military assets.
