Woke Cincinnati Councilwoman Victoria Parks Says Assault Victims "Deserved It"

CINCINNATI, OH - The next time Democrats are heard referring to the Republican Party as the “party of hate,” and “racists,” refer them to a member of the Cincinnati City Council, who last week said the victims of a racial hate crime “deserved” to be beaten by a mob of blacks for the “crime” of being white. 

City council member and President Pro Tem Victoria Parks, who at the age of 67 should know better, said the two victims, a white male and a white female, “begged for a beatdown,” according to The Daily Mail, citing a comment on Facebook. 

Parks’ comment was in response to an assault that went viral on social media after an estimated 100 people stood by as a mob of blacks savagely attacked first a white man, who was punched and kicked numerous times as he lay helpless on the ground, and then a white female, who was knocked unconscious.

According to The Daily Mail, only one person called 911 to report the attack, as scores of people did nothing and instead recorded the incident. 

The incident was caught on camera, going viral on X in the days immediately following. 

In her post, Parks said, “They begged for that beat down! I am grateful for the whole story.” 

The whole story? Even if the attack were provoked, does Parks believe that it was deserving of getting beaten and kicked by at least six savage thugs? And was the woman, who by all accounts was an innocent bystander, worthy of getting knocked unconscious? 

The Daily Mail said they reached out to Parks for comment; however, no response was received. Parks announced in January that she would be retiring from the city council at the end of this year. In response to her post, Parks has faced calls for her resignation.

Parks later appeared to double down on her comments in an interview with Local 12 Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that as of Friday, August 1, four people had been arrested in connection with the assault, which they referred to as a “fight.” Dominique Kittle, 37, was arrested and charged with felonious assault and aggravated riot. He joins three others arrested in connection with the melee: Montianez Merriweather, 34; Jermaine Matthews, 39; and Dekyra Vernon, 24, who have all been arrested in connection with the case. Cincinnati police chief Teresa Theetge said two other suspects remain at large. 

Parks has been a member of the city council since 2022. She previously sat on the Hamilton County Commission and said her “proudest achievement” on that board was when she declared racism “a public health crisis,” USA Today reported. 

An unhinged loon, Parks also led efforts to exclude President Trump from the 2024 election ballot in Ohio, claiming that he “helped coordinate a violent attack on the United States Capitol building, hoping to overturn the results of a lawful presidential election.”

Her resolution went down in flames before the Cincinnati City Council on a vote of 7-2. Apparently, only certain “attacks” are acceptable. 

Speaking of unhinged lunatics, Theetge, who resembles an 1800s schoolmarm more than a big city police chief, drew outrage from some last week when addressing the attack.

She said she rejected the so-called “narrative” shown in the viral videos, saying they only showed “one version” of what happened. As if there is a version that justifies a dozen people beating down helpless victims on the streets of Cincinnati. 

“Social media and journalism, and the role [they] play in this incident, the posts that have been seen [do] not depict the entire incident. That is one version of what occurred. At times, social media and mainstream media and their commentaries are a misrepresentation of the circumstances surrounding any given event,” Theetge continued. 

‘That causes us some difficulties in thoroughly investigating the activity and enforcing the law. Social media and your coverage of it distort the context of what actually happened, and that makes it more difficult.” 

Theetge partially redeemed herself by calling out those who witnessed the assault but did not call 911. 

“That is unacceptable not to call the police,” she said. “Traffic was horrendous. People saw this. They were fighting in front of traffic. Why didn’t people call us?” 

Theetge also signaled that the victims of the assault may also face charges. 

“Anyone who puts their hands on another individual during this incident in an attempt to cause harm will face consequences,” Granny Theetge said. “I don’t care which side of the incident or fight they were on.”
