Ohio 'Monster' Bludgeoned His Own Girlfriend's Baby To Death: Prosecutor

FRANKLIN COUNTY, OH - A man in his thirties is facing a murder charge after prosecutors say he caused fatal injuries to his girlfriend's five-month-old daughter.

The alleged suspect, 32-year-old Glenn McIntosh, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of five-month-old Ameira Reynolds on October 13.

According to prosecutors, the man killed his girlfriend's infant daughter while she was out with her other children, fled their home immediately when she got back, then ignored the woman's texts and calls before eventually claiming the baby fell, Law & Crime reported.

The couple had only been dating for three months and McIntosh was not biologically related to the young child. "You asked me to trust you and I trusted you with my baby, and you took her from me," Ameira's mom said in a statement read in court last week by prosecutors.

"You killed my baby girl. My baby didn't deserve that. I can't imagine what put her though."

McIntosh appeared at his initial court hearing on October 15, where Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Mark Hummer set his bond at $2 million.

During the hearing, Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor Shania Goble disclosed that the five-month-old baby died on October 13 at Nationwide Children's Hospital, the Columbus Dispatch reported. On October 13, Ameira's mother left for about an hour with her two other children, Goble said, leaving the infant alone with McIntosh.

When they returned home around 10:00 a.m., McIntosh left almost immediately. The mother thought the baby was asleep, but discovered that the five-month-old was limp and unresponsive, Goble said.

Ameira was rushed to the hospital, where a CAT scan confirmed she had multiple skull fractures consistent with "severe blunt force trauma."

Goble said Ameira's mother was "frantically" texting McIntosh to figure out what happened, and McIntosh eventually claimed that the infant girl had fallen.

"I don't deserve to have to bury my five-month-old baby," the mom's statement said. "I can't believe I let my guard down and trusted you. You hurt her and let her suffer. A baby, a defenseless baby. How dare you. You are a monster, and you will reap what you sow."

Franklin County Children Services said the agency had no prior contact with McIntosh or with Ameira's family. A grand jury will review McIntosh's case in the coming weeks for possible indictment.

Ameira is the fourth child under the age of seven to be killed in Frankin County this year. In all four cases, the partner of the child's mother has been accused of being involved in the child's death. Three of the cases involve the child's mother also facing charges.
