Here it comes: AOC proposes blanket amnesty — 'path to citizenship' for over eight million illegal immigrants

NEW YORK, NY—Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), the controversial New York legislator and originator of "The Green New Deal" and center of gravity of the so-called "Squad," has called for the creation of a path to citizenship, an amnesty, for over eight million illegal immigrants who have criminally entered the United States.

The radical left congresswoman proposed unconstitutional notion during an appearance on The Daily Show. Ocasio-Cortez suggested that the solution to the catastrophic border crisis is not closing off the border, but rather taking the "undocumented immigrants" and start to "document people." 

“One of the biggest issues that we have when it comes to immigration is the fact that we have an undocumented population," she said. "Now you can fix that by trying to build a wall, or you can fix that by trying to document people and create a path to citizenship.
 

“And we’ll have folks that might say, look at these systems, you know that our shelter system has weight and things like that. But one of the reasons that our public systems experience weight is because people don’t have a documented and reliable path to work and sustain themselves,” she claimed. “Just like all of our ancestors did and our grandparents and great-grandparents."

She left out the key differentiator, however, that a vast majority of immigration into the U.S. has historically been legal.

Congressman Wesley Hunt (R-TX) took a decidedly negative view of AOC's suggestion in a post to X writing, "According to AOC, the best way to end illegal immigration is by legalizing it. She admits the quiet part out loud. Problem. Reaction. Solution. The left flooded this country with illegal aliens and now their leading voice tells us the only solution is mass amnesty. It’s like we predicted this."

Tenet Media's Benny Johnson posited, "AOC’s solution to the illegal immigration crisis: “Document them” This has been their plan all along."

On her congressional website, the radical leftist Democrat makes no mystery of her immigration policy. It states under "immigration," "It is beyond time for a path to citizenship for all undocumented people in our country, including DREAMers," claiming that "undocumented immigrants have been villianized, despite the integral role they play in our communities and our economy."
