Are elected officials ignoring the will of 'We the People?' According to a Navy SEAL turned Congressman, yes.

A personal note from LET owner Kyle Reyes: "Many of you have shared that you are feeling much like our team at Law Enforcement Today these days.  You feel like Congress has turned their collective backs on Americans.  You feel like they've sold out to everything from China to big pharma.  Like they've taken a knee in the name of wokeism and turned their backs on God and country.

I'm proud to call the congressman in today's story not just my brother in Christ, but my best friend.  I've known Eli and his heart for the better part of a decade.  I've watched him grow from Navy SEAL to successful entrepreneur... from the man who laughed at the idea of ever being in Congress to the man who decided to once again answer the call to serve and head to DC to represent the American people.

Eli is perhaps the one chosen man in this country we've all been waiting for.  Hoping for.  Praying for.  I can tell you all without question that I believe he's the best man to ever walk this earth besides Jesus - who is incidentally the ONLY person Eli will ever bend a knee to.

We proudly endorsed Eli in his last campaign.  Should he choose to run again, we will once again do so proudly.  This is the man that every American who loves their country should stand behind - because he's the leader who didn't want this fight... but he's the leader we all needed to take it."

WASHINGTON, DC - In the United States, we live in a Constitutional Republic. It is governed by a body comprised of elected representatives chosen from within the citizenry. They are not royalty. They do not inherit leadership as a birth right. 

As Abraham Lincoln stated his hopes in the Gettysburg Address, "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Being governed by citizens chosen to represent the will of the people seems to be lost on the  elite, career politicians entrenched in Washington, DC. And at least one elected official is willing to speak up and say something. 

Former Navy SEAL, entrepreneur, and friend of Law Enforcement Today, Congressman Eli Crane from Arizona spoke to reporters outside of the US Capitol following a failed vote for Jim Jordan to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives. 

As some have questioned the removal of Kevin McCarthy and the selection of Jordan as Speaker Select, Crane has made his position clear. He is doing what the constituents of Arizona District 2 elected him to do, and that is represent their interests.



"We've had what, three votes in the entire week? Back in January, you guys remember, it was vote after vote after vote after vote. Jim holds one vote, and then he goes and tries to talk to these folks," Crane said as he stood beside Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. 

"And here's the other thing about Jim Jordan," Crane continued. "I hear a lot in this conference about, 'Oh, you gotta support the team. You gotta support the conference. You gotta support the majority.'"

The “majority” he is referring to in that statement is the majority of the party and conference, the majority of elected officials on the same side of the aisle. But Crane breaks it down to identify what should really matter.

"What do the American people say? Are you guys hearing what the American people are saying?" he asked reporters.

"He is the number two most popular Republican in the entire country. The vast majority of Americans want Jim Jordan, and one of the problems in this town is, a lot of the 'representatives' up here don't really care what the American people have to say about it."

Crane's statement reflects what millions of Americans have felt for a long time. The people we elect either forget, or flat out refuse, to do the things we send them to Washington to do. 

Many of us at Law Enforcement today are privileged to call Representative Crane a friend. We know his heart. He loves this nation and what it stands for. Around the time he announced his run, he posted video to social media of a new tattoo. On his right bicep, he had the words "We the People" permanently inked. 



"The problem with Washington politicians is, they have no skin in the game," Crane said as the tattoo artist sketched those words on his arm. "Well, I am not a self-serving politician. My whole life has been about service, family and community." 

Eli is the type of person who makes you wonder what this nation would look like with 434 other members of the House of Representatives who approached their mission with the same mindset.
