NEW YORK CITY, NY – The author behind the bestselling book “Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History” claimed in a interview earlier in July that despite concerns of a nefarious scandal involving former President Joe Biden’s mental decline, those close to the president at the time were simply living in a form of denial.
As the current administration’s Justice Department is looking into former President Biden’s mental decline during his waning days in office and how it may’ve impacted his decision making capabilities, author Chris Whipple is claiming that there may not be as big of a fire behind the proverbial smoke.
Whipple, the author of the New York Times’ Bestseller “Uncharted”, said in an interview on July 25th that while some are speculating that Biden’s inner circle at the White House were scrambling to keep his mental faculties under wraps, they instead somehow convinced themselves that everything with Biden was normal.
“They convinced themselves, in effect, they believed what they wanted to believe instead of their lying eyes,” Whipple said while appearing on “America’s Newsroom,” adding, “even during the debate when everything went south.”
The “debate” Whipple was referring to was none other than the June 2024 showdown with then-candidate Trump, which even CNN called “disastrous” for the Democrat incumbent in the aftermath.
While the broader populace who watched the debate last summer collectively experienced a sort of eye-opening moment regarding the reality of Biden’s mental capacity being a losing ticket, Whipple asserts Biden’s cohorts, such as his chief of staff Ron Klain, had fallen under almost a spell of disbelief that Biden could secure the White House in his diminished state.
“Despite that devastating debate, which was lights out, game over, everybody knew it, Klain was still all in on Joe Biden's nomination and re-election and somehow thought he could beat Trump,” Whipple stated, adding, “He’s been in the doghouse with Joe Biden and his inner circle ever since he was devastatingly candid to me about Joe Biden's condition in that pre-debate prep at Camp David.”
With respect to the Justice Department’s investigative efforts into whether the former president’s mental decline was being utilized to the advantage of those with agendas surrounding him, Whipple believes the aforementioned theory doesn’t hold water based on his interviews with those close to Biden.
“The notion that this was somehow, you know, Biden’s last year was ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ and that…he was non compos mentis and there was a cabal running the country with an autopen is just silly,” Whipple claimed, further stating that Republicans aren’t “going to be able to prove that there was this dastardly cover-up on the part of Biden's inner circle,” calling the theory “crazy.”
