Burn an American flag? No problem. Do a burnout on a 'pride mural' painted on the road? Get the book thrown at you.

DELRAY Beach, FL- Across much of the United States, so-called “street takeovers” have spread like wildfire, with bored teens and young drivers taking over intersections or portions of roadways and doing burnouts, blowing donuts, or engaging in vehicular mayhem.

On a few occasions, police have interceded and stopped the shenanigans, but by and large, such displays are allowed to carry on. A majority of participants receive no tickets or punishment for participating. That is unless you have the audacity to stage a burnout on specific roadway markings, particularly a Black Lives Matter or LGBTQ-painted roadway.

Last week, a 19-year-old Florida man learned that exercising your vehicular muscle on a “pride” painting on a public roadway is a no-no. That man, Dylan Brewer, was caught in Delray Beach, Florida, on surveillance video doing the unthinkable…blowing donuts on an LGBTQ pride “mural” painted on a city intersection.

That video showed a lifted pickup truck with LED lights underneath displaying a flag on the back “making a hard left turn” at the intersection in the Florida city on Feb. 4, the New York Post reported.

As a result of this vehicular scofflaw's lead foot, two curved tire marks were left on the pride crosswalk mural, which is blasphemy to the alphabet community. Burn an American flag? Free speech. Burn out on an LGBTQ street painting? Blasphemy!

“Witnesses reported that Brewer was observed intentionally performing multiple burnouts with his vehicle over the LGBTQ pride crosswalk,” the Delray Beach Police Department said in a statement. “The reckless action caused significant damage to the streetscape painting, which serves as a symbol of unity and inclusivity for the LGBTQ community.”

The “painting” consists of multi-colored lines in an intersection. It should be noted that the “painting” is pretty worn out from cars doing what cars do…driving over it.

Police received “multiple reports” over the so-called “destructive acts,” with several witnesses providing cell phone videos of Brewer’s antics. Delray police devoted over one week to investigating what amounted to reckless driving, which put nobody except some paint in danger. To add injury to insult, Brewer was also charged with felony criminal mischief and damage to property over $1,000, along with reckless driving.

Brewer was forced to post a $5,250 bond just after midnight the evening he was arrested. Keep in mind that in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, you can shoot people and be released on no bond…just for comparison’s sake.

More than those charges are needed for some, however. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council (PBCHRC) says that Brewer should be charged with a hate crime.

This isn’t the first time the intersection has had someone do burnouts in it. In June 2021, another Florida man used his pickup truck to leave tire marks in the intersection. That man received probation, according to the Sun Sentinel.

In July 2020, a Black Lives Matter mural painted outside Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan in recognition of the overdose death of George Floyd was vandalized several times, including by a black woman who live-streamed herself doing so.

Bevelyn Beatty, 29, painted the “mural” several times and, when questioned by an NYPD officer about what she was doing, said she did so to support the police.

“Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter, right?” she said. “For the black people. This is for the black people. They’re destroying business for black people. They’re looting for black people.

“No,” she said. “No. We’re not standing with Black Lives Matter. We want our police. Re-fund our police.”

Beatty also became a target for far-left "progressive" New York Attorney General Letitia James, who, in her spare time, when she's not interfering in elections, targets conservatives, as noted in the X post above.
