HOLLISTON, MA - Rolando Jimenez, 65, a convicted cop-killer for the murder of Holliston Police Officer John Johnson on Aug. 13, 1981, was released from prison on parole Wednesday according to the town's chief of police. Holliston Police Chief Matthew Stone told reporters that Jimenez, who was found guilty of second-degree murder, shot Johnson three times at near point-blank range with his own service weapon.
He was granted parole after a hearing last year.
As reported by NBC Boston, the move by the Massachusetts Parole Board drew a scathing response from Stone, who testified in opposition to his release. He wrote in a 2023 statement, "As a police officer, as a human being and as your Police Chief, I am disgusted with the Parole Board’s decision to grant Inmate Jimenez parole."
In a second statement released Wednesday, he added, "The decision by the Massachusetts Parole Board to release the murderer of a police officer back into the society which he once terrorized is not only unfathomable, but it goes against every moral that is right and that is just."
The parole board reportedly found that Jimenez presented a low likelihood to re-offend given the extent of his incarceration and satisfactory completion of rehabilitation programs as well as a lack of sanctioned disciplinary reports for 20 years.
Stone, however, differed from the board. “No rehabilitation program can undo what Rolando Jimenez did on that dreadful August evening more than 43 years ago.”
According to the outlet, Johnson was only 31 when he was killed, and left behind a wife and two children aged 10 and three at the time. He was a six-year veteran on the Holliston Police force and was patrolling when he encountered a car reported stolen in nearby Natick.
He gave chase to one of the suspected robbers and engaged in a struggle with Jimenez, then 22, unaware he was wanted on multiple felony warrants. Johnson was shot mortally in the struggle and twice more as he lay on the ground after he collapsed the department wrote in its memorial to him.
Jimenez was tracked in a three-hour manhunt by over one hundred officers from multiple agencies including the State Police.
In a post to Facebook, Stone wrote "Inmate Jimenez not only murdered the patriarch of the Johnson family, but he terrified a community that still affects many of us today. The murder of Officer John Johnson was not an accident. It was not a mistake. And it was not a lapse in judgment by Rolando Jimenez. This was an ambush. This was violent. And this was a murder of a police officer.”

Parole??? Why wasn't he given the death penalty for the murder of an officer? Criminal-favoring DemoSocialists at work! The Somali cop in MN who killed that innocent White woman has also been paroled. Meanwhile Derek Chauvin is still in prison. Go figure that.
