NEW YORK CITY, NY - With New York City being one of the most liberal cities in America (who once believed defunding police was a good idea) there’s no surprise that the crime rates have risen.
Couple that with woke prosecutors who have turned the criminal justice system into a revolving door for career thugs, the entire formula makes it ripe for violent crime.
And that is exactly what is happening.
Rape incidents are up 6% for the first half of 2023 and 2024. Hate crimes against the Jewish population are up 200% in the same time frame.
According to NYC.gov July 2024 statistics, “Citywide, major index crime arrests jumped 11.3 percent in July (5,158 vs. 4,633), and 10.4 percent year to date (33,811 vs. 30,637). In both instances, they reflect the largest numbers of felony arrests effected in New York City since 1998.”
That is why a Maryland father hired a private bodyguard and security consultant to accompany his daughter, a freshman at NYU, which Law Enforcement Today reported on previously. He wanted to give his daughter (as any good father would do) the best chance to safely navigate through New York city’s five boroughs.
"I believe information is the best disinfectant and knowing what areas to go to, what areas to avoid is absolutely critical, particularly for a young person navigating a city or even a situation on their own for the first time away from home," he told local media. "I don't know whether this is enough; I hope it is. As a father, you want to equip your child with all the information you can possibly get them, and hope they make good decisions."
See It Send It App
It is scenarios like this father and his daughter are exactly why See It Send It exists. The app empowers everyday people.
“Dan Kerning founded See It Send It after being approached by organizations that needed to improve employee communications and safety. As a former Naval Flight Officer, it was an exciting opportunity to leverage past experience and develop a suite of mobile applications focused on providing situational awareness, tactical management, communications and control used by the E-2C Hawkeye aircraft," the website states.
"Over 11 years ago, CloudScann was asked by NJ Transit, as a trusted technology partner, to help expand their camera infrastructure by 3x with a budget of $0. CloudScann's founder Dan Kerning and his team formulated a unique offering to leverage employee's mobile device to report various maintenance and security related incidents. This solution, coined as 'See It Send It,' later evolved to include many other safety features to help protect employees and staff, such as GuardMe and safety Check In's."
This app is exactly what people need so that fathers can rest more easily knowing that their children have access to critical information while away at college.
