NASHVILLE, TN - A student in Nashville, is dead, and another was fatally wounded when 17-year-old Solomon Henderson opened fire on the lunchroom at Antioch High School, striking and killing Josselin Corea Escalante, 16 and grazing another 17-year-old student. Henderson then reportedly turned the gun on himself and died at the scene.
Nashville Police Chief John Drake told reporters at the High School that after the shooting a Metro Nashville PD SWAT team searched the school and found no further victims or shooters, according to CBS News.
Both victims were hospitalized, but Escalante did not survive.
Investigators are scouring Henderson’s online presence and "examining very concerning online writings and social media posts,” the outlet reported stating the murderer expressed praise for other mass shooters and expressed antisemitic views.
As noted by The New York Post he praised Adolf Hitler. He described himself as an “incel” or “involuntarily celibate” noting his inability to attract others and describing himself as a “worthless subhuman, a living breathing disgrace,” in a disturbing manifesto adding that he “was ashamed to be Black.”
Reporting from The Tennessean detailed that the disturbing 300-page screed posted to X indicated the assailant’s opposition to “race mixing” and his desire to “take revenge” on society at large.
According to independent journalist RAWSALERTS, Henderson live-streamed the shooting on Kick before the footage was takedown. He also left behind a highly disturbing FAQ or frequently asked questions with his manifesto.
WARNING Disturbing Content:
Carla Hill, senior director of investigative research at the Anti-Defamation League Center on Extremism, described the content, telling the outlet, “Our analysts located a sprawling manifesto full of anti-Black content, references to accelerationism and antisemitism. It also plagiarized from various far-right manifestos and publications, including Terrorgram Collective and a manifesto by Matthew Harris.”
Chief Drake told reporters “We believe there's some materials out there, and maybe they were seen,” He added that if someone “said something, maybe more could have been done.”
