WASHINGTON, DC - Despite Democrats claiming there is “no cheating” in elections, the Department of Justice (DOJ) continues to enjoy success in finding cases of voter fraud. Fox News Digital reports that 16 people have been arrested across multiple states “in connection with alleged illegal voting, voter registration, and other election-related crimes.” Several of the cases included noncitizens casting ballots in federal elections.
After announcing the arrests, the DOJ issued a stark warning on social media to anyone intent on violating election integrity and federal election law.
“Let this be a warning to ANYONE trying to cheat and undermine our elections. Spread the word!” the agency wrote.
Eight noncitizens living in Texas were charged, plus other defendants in Idaho, Georgia, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Michigan.
Noncitizens were charged with voting in federal elections, making false claims of U.S. citizenship to register or vote, and making false statements related to naturalization.
The arrests are part of a targeted effort by the Trump administration to probe illegal voting and election-related crimes.
Among those charged was Analiea Milliscent Eccles, a Venezuelan national and DACA recipient, who voted nine times between 2008 and 2024. Eccles was charged with voting as a noncitizen and falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to vote.
In Idaho, Fredy Avila Gomez, a Mexican national, is accused of falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to register to vote. Gomez then voted in May 2022 and November 2024. The indictment includes wire fraud, passport, identification-document, and firearm-related charges, the DOJ said.
A lawful permanent New Jersey resident, Sanata Coulibaly, registered to vote in 2016 and voted in federal elections in 2018 and 2020. She submitted a provisional ballot in the 2024 presidential election. She also allegedly lied on naturalization application statements.
According to Assistant Attorney General Colin M. McDonald of the DOJ’s Fraud Division, the Trump administration has thus far charged 50 noncitizens with illegal voting.
“Americans elections are for Americans,” McDonald told Fox News Digital.
In a separate interview, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Fox News Digital that a broader investigation was underway. Officials have over 1,620 open cases and have made 151 arrests. He added that authorities are looking into more than 300,000 suspected cases, a number that continues to grow.
Mullin said that “every single vote that was at the hands of an illegal [alien], canceled out a citizen that was legally registered and able to vote.”
“One is too many, but the fact that we have 300,000 cases we’re looking into right now and 1,620 cases that are under investigation, and 151 arrests is unacceptable,” the Secretary said.
So much for an alleged “non-existent problem.”
