Exclusive: Meet Trump’s New Drug Czar Who Is Gearing Up To Fight for America (Part 2)

Washington DC- We recently sat down with the newly confirmed Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Sara A. Carter, aka the Drug Czar.

She reaffirmed her commitment to help rid our country of the drug epidemic and build a new foundation that is free from its crippling effects. She wants to remove the tightened grip drugs have on so many Americans and help them live healthier, drug-free lives.

Much of her anticipated success will come from both her determination to solve the problem and her real-world experience from the frontlines.

She has her work cut out for her.

In every organization, whether it’s business, government, or private, comes bureaucracy, overlapping services, and inefficient processes. Much of the organizational noise emanates from top leadership becoming too detached from everyday, frontline business. Too often, top leaders' perception of what life is like on the frontlines is fogged up from years of absence. They fall into the category of “forgetting where they came from.”

“Federal government… we can't be up here trying to run a show when we don't know what the knuckle draggers and the troops on the front lines are doing and what they're seeing. And not only that, we need to listen to them, and we need to listen to what your advice is, what you're seeing, what you're saying, so that we can build a strategy that actually reflects reality, not one that is just some fly-by-night strategy,” she said.

She continued, “It's not just a piece of paper. It actually has to be implemented. It has to be alive. It has to be a strategy that can be implemented, not just some kind of policy like, ‘Oh, check that block.’ And so that's going to be my task. Once that gets done, implementing that and working very closely with local and state law enforcement so that we're constantly in communication.”

Drug Czar Carter’s policy was drawn from her years of experience on the frontlines, talking with and meeting people who are closest to the issue she was there to investigate.

And it’s heavy.

“When I walk through Baltimore, and I see people suffering on the streets or see a homeless vet that's addicted to fentanyl or somebody on drugs, when I go to the border and I see little kids being trafficked, I'm like, ‘Where's your mom or dad? Who's your guardian?’ And it's a 13-year-old kid who came across a smuggler who's tied in to the drug cartels that's fueled by drugs,” she said.

She continued, “A young man named Jacob, in his early 20s, lost his 2 and a half-year-old baby boy to fentanyl. But when the dad walks up to me, and he's crying in my arms, and he's sobbing, and he's begging that this not happen to another parent. That's pretty powerful. And it touches every single one of our lives. So no, this is not just some ‘thing’ that happens to other people. This is a national security issue that affects every single American, every single person in this nation, every single state of our union, every single community center, every, every child!!”

Another concern with America’s drug epidemic comes from the international community, both across borders and abroad. They have deeply contributed to the drug problem that started on our soil. According to the Drug Czar, the solution lies within the next generation of Americans; she knows they are smart.

“Our adversaries and the bad guys took advantage of a very bad situation that happened in America when the pharmaceutical industry exploded, and everybody was getting hooked on opioids. And that was just a nightmare. But we are not a nation of addicts. In fact, the majority of Americans don't use drugs, right? But those that do, and those that supply it, and those that feed the beast, these narco-terrorists, like the Sinaloa cartel or any of these other guys, it creates a problem for everyone. So I don't buy it at all. I think we are going to shift back. I think our younger generations are smart,” Drug Czar Carter said.

A Bipartisan Push

Despite all of her good intentions, there will always be a community of agitators, haters, and spoilers who simply do not want to see her succeed. These individuals are solely focused on opposing a Republican appointee and put politics ahead of results, including saving American lives!

And Drug Czar Carter has a message for them.

“I'm going to fight for you, too. I am not here to divide. I'm here to win this fight and to work with President Trump in ensuring that our nation is secure, that our nation is free from the scourge of these drugs, and that these monsters who run these organizations know that their time is limited and their days are numbered and that we are here to protect the American people. More importantly, we are here for every single child in this nation that wants and deserves a future, and that we are not going to give up on them and that we love them and that we are here to protect them,” she said.

She continued, “I really do want the American people to understand that this is an issue that affects all of us. It should be bipartisan. Yeah, sure. Are we going to have people who oppose? Of course. Am I okay with that? Yes. I wouldn't expect everybody to agree with me. But even under those disagreements, I'm going to be here to fight for them no matter what. We're here to put America first.”

We here at the 1776 Project, which includes Law Enforcement Today, Blue Lives Matter, and The Police Tribune, know in our hearts she will succeed. It comes down to our faith in her and the faith within her.

“I have a deep faith in God, and I have a deep faith in our nation. My father fought for this country in World War II and in the Korean War, with my mother by his side. I'm the firstborn immigrant, and I do it because I really believe that this is the last bastion of hope on Earth. I believe in our Constitution. I believe in what this nation stands for, and it's absolutely beautiful,” the Drug Czar said.

And America is, indeed, beautiful.
