Facebook Shuts Down Pro-Police Health and Wellness Company’s Page Without Explanation

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – A health and wellness company out of Scottsdale endured a sudden and unexplained upending of their company Facebook page on October 1, with the social media giant only restoring the page after massive backlash ensued over Meta’s inexplicable allegation that the company was in violation of some unnamed policy on the platform.

Vita Bella is described on their website as “a leading provider of personalized health solutions, specializing in hormone therapy, weight management, and anti-aging treatments,” and is seemingly above board regarding their business and advertising practices in such a heavily regulated space.  Law Enforcement Today has proudly worked with Vita Belloa to help educate law enforcement officers and supporters about life-changing programs and products.

Phil Vella, who leads the Scottsdale-based company, transitioned from the world of IT sales and strategy to helping individuals regain a quality of life ostensibly thought unattainable, with his motivation behind the endeavor stemming from his own personal injury recovery story and understanding that the treatments he needed did not come with exorbitant costs.

In Vella’s own words, he describes the journey to creating Vita Bella as a noble effort, saying, “Frustration turned into a mission to build a company that helps healthcare become accessible to all.” From initial consultations, one-on-ones with licensed providers, appropriate prescriptions rendered to ongoing check-ins with aforesaid licensed providers – Vita Bella is running a tight and legal ship.

Yet, Vella was surprised to see that on October 1st, the company page for Vita Bella on Facebook was unpublished. Understandably confused and alarmed by the situation, Vella reached out to Meta’s support team for answers, with the reasoning afforded by the support representative only resulting in more questions.

“To summarize our chat today, you contacted us about your Facebook page being taken down due to a suspension and restriction notice related to prescription medication policies, despite having the necessary certifications and licenses,” Meta’s support response noted, adding, “We have directed your case to our internal team for review, and unfortunately, they have concluded that the account was correctly removed and cannot be restored due to policy violations.”

Vella was understandably dumbfounded after continuing his back-and-forth with Meta’s support team. The representative insisted that his company’s page “was correctly disabled” per a “specialized team” that reviewed the content, even though Vella was given no explanation of the alleged violation despite holding all required licenses to operate in his field.

Suddenly, accompanied by the same flavor of vagueness that kicked off Vella’s frustrations with Meta, his company page was restored on October 2nd after Vella admitted he enlisted the help of friends and colleagues to reach out to Meta over their error.

Speaking on the censorious debacle with the social media giant, Vella says Facebook/Meta never explains “what your violations are. They literally just shut you down and do not communicate anything.” With respect to the highly credentialed nature of Vella’s company, he emphasized, “I have every state/federal medical license, DEA, Legit Script Certification, Pharma cert available (hundreds of them), and they still tell me I violated policy…but cannot tell me what I violated.”

A story not unfamiliar to those who’ve dealt with Facebook/Meta inexplicably banning and purging pages, Vella added, “Meta provides zero data on the policy violation, just shuts down your page without warning.”

Vella’s story and experience with Facebook/Meta serve as another proverbial chapter in an ongoing saga highlighting the unchecked power held by these sorts of social media giants. Platforms like Facebook are part of what can accurately be described as an oligopoly, with only a handful of these interactive web services holding the keys to what information and products can be distributed to, and consumed by, the broader populace.
