'The girls were terrified': Male university professor, 50, allowed to change, shower, and swim against eight to 14-year-old girls

UNIONVILLE, ONTARIO, CANADA— Disturbing reports from Ontario have revealed that a 50-year-old, who "identifies" as a 15-year-old girl, has been allowed to competitively swim, change, and even shower with eight to 14 year-old-girls.

Nicholas J. Cepeda, a York University professor of behavioral science styling himself as "Melody Wiseheart," has been permitted by Ontario authorities since at least October to compete against the pre-teen girls in the Richmond Hill Aquatic Centre’s Fall Classic swimming competition, according to BizPacReview.

In December 2023, a brief story in the Toronto Sun stated, "Girls from age eight to 16 in a Swimming Canada-sanctioned swim meet in Barrie last week not only found themselves in the same pool as a transgender female swimmer but in the same changeroom, too."

The understated introduction belied the severity of the situation with parents vocally speaking out. Without exaggeration, children as young as eight years old were subjected to the traumatic experience of changing and showering with an unknown 50-year-old man sharing the facilities.

"The girls were terrified,” one parent said.

Parents reportedly assembled an ad hoc towel-constructed tent to obscure their daughters from view, and so that the girls wouldn't see the man's anatomy before he competed against them in several events.

“It’s all so confusing for the kids,” one parent told the outlet. “No one is comfortable. Everybody is accepting of all people but them swimming against our kids and being in the locker room with them is not appropriate.”

At great risk of prosecution under the Canadian judicial system, Toronto Sun columnist Joe Warmington wrote, "
The whole thing is gross."

“We have no idea why it is allowed,” another parent reportedly said. “We know it’s not fair to the girls who are training at their sport and some of whom are hoping for scholarships.”

In a statement to the Toronto Star, the Ontario provincial governing body for competitive swimming defended Cepeda's participation saying, "In partnership with Swimming Canada, Swim Ontario has a robust system of policies, procedures and rules that support our member clubs in providing a competitive experience that is safe, welcoming and inclusive for all participants."

Swim Ontario added that the body "investigated a concern related to an adult competing against swimmers aged 12-14 during a recent competition hosted by the Richmond Hill Aquatic Club (RHAC)” but concluded “RHAC acted appropriately” in allowing Cepeda to compete.

It continued, "Swimming Canada and Swim Ontario believe swimming is for everyone [and that] people of all shapes, sizes, genders, beliefs and backgrounds should have the opportunity to swim to the best of their ability."

He identifies as a kid so when he gets caught molesting one, he can say it's "just kids being kids".

Apparently, being a protector is no longer part of being a parent. When my kids were growing up, this would never have happened. As a matter of fact, there would have been a whole different article written about what happened to a predator that was found in a girls' locker room.
