Baseball Bat-Wielding Florida Man Bludgeoned His Victim At A Panda Express: Cops

MIAMI, FL - Police have arrested a man months after he allegedly beat another man with a metal bat in a violent armed robbery outside a Panda Express in South Florida.

Miami-Dade deputies arrested the alleged suspect, 24-year-old Reiver Jose Sanchez-Molero, this week according to NBC6. Authorities claim that he attacked another man in April outside of the restaurant.

The arrest report states that the victim said Sanchez-Molero started chasing him outside the restaurant unprovoked, before hitting him on the head several times with a metal bat.

Sanchez-Molero allegedly forced the victim to the ground, refused to let him leave and "forcibly removed his cellular phone from his hand." The suspect then allegedly used the victim's cell phone to send himself $300 via Zelle. Deputies said that the attacker was captured on surveillance video, Local10 reported.

According to the arrest warrant, that video, along with the Wells Fargo bank account information to which the money was sent helped detectives identify Sanchez-Molero as the suspect. Deputies said the victim also identified Sanchez-Molero in a photo lineup.

Although Sanchez-Molero was identified earlier this year as the alleged suspect, he was believed to have spent some time in Texas before his capture.

Sanchez-Molero was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center to face charges for armed robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and false imprisonment with a deadly weapon. He is being held without bond and is also reportedly facing an immigration hold.
