WAKULLA COUNTY, FL - An elderly man in Florida is accused of trying to kill his wife and daughter, allegedly stabbing his 69-year-old wife in the neck and saying he would stab his daughter next because he was "tired of everyone suffering" and "trying to get'em up to heaven," authorities said.
The alleged suspect, 73-year-old Allison Hubert Hatton, was taken into custody over the weekend and has been charged with one count of attempted felony murder, aggravated battery on a person over 65 years of age, and assault with the intent to commit a felony, Law & Crime reported.
According to a probable cause affidavit, deputies with the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) responded to a 911 call around 4:00 a.m. on October 11, from a residence in the 2700 block of Shadeville Road in Crawfordville, Florida. The caller was Hatton's 42-year-old daughter, WCSO said in a news release.
She reportedly told dispatchers that her father had just stabbed her mother, who was "bleeding profusely." Upon arriving on scene, first responders said Hatton was disarmed and taken into custody without incident.
His wife suffered a laceration and two puncture wounds to her throat. She was immediately transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
When speaking with detectives, Hatton's daughter said she was "woken up by hearing her mother scream 'stop' and 'don't do it.'" According to the affidavit, the daughter said "she entered the living room where her mother was seated in her chair, where she typically sleeps."
The daughter said she saw her father standing over her mother with a knife in his hand.
The daughter said she managed to get the knife away from her father, however, he then allegedly went back into the kitchen and retrieved a second knife, the affidavit states. "Mr. Hatton the advised [his daughter] that if she didn't let him kill her mother, he would kill her too."
The daughter told investigators that her father had never been diagnosed with a mental health disorder and that he regularly sees doctors at the VA.
However, she also said that he had recently been refusing to eat and was receiving nutrients through a feeding tube. His doctors reportedly said there was "nothing mentally wrong with him, he just didn't want to eat."
Hatton had also exhibited other concerning behavior as of late, according to his daughter, who said, "Mr. Hatton has been talking to God out loud the last several days, in which he purportedly asked him, 'if this isn't right, tell me.'"
The daughter said she "didn't know what [her dad] was referring to until today."
In a post-Miranda interview, Hatton allegedly confessed to detectives that "he was tired of everyone suffering and intended to kill his entire family, including the dog."
He added that he was "trying to get'em up to heaven," the sheriff's office wrote in the news release.
Inside the home, police said they recovered the two knives allegedly used in the attack and found blood throughout the house. Hatton was transported to the Wakulla County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, October 17.

So his doctor (quack) says there is nothing mentally wrong with him! This doctor needs to be investigated! Maybe he got his medical license out of a comic book! Time for the mental ward for daddy!
