KYLE, TX - Reports from Texas have indicated that a former officer with the Mexican Tamaulipas State Police was arrested in Kyle, TX where he had fled from his home country to avoid prosecution for the mass-murder of 16 illegal immigrants and three human smugglers in 2021. He has since been transferred to Mexican authorities under heavy guard to stand trial.
According to Breitbart News, former officer Alan Alvarez became a wanted fugitive from Mexican authorities after he allegedly took part in a 2021 massacre that saw police reportedly mistake a convoy of human traffickers and illegal immigrants as cartel gunmen and opened fire on them, striking and killing many and executing the survivors.
The police then allegedly set fire to the convoy to cover up the incident. Alvarez was one of over a dozen officers linked to the massacre before he fled to Texas.
The outlet reported that Alvarez was arrested earlier in the year on illegal immigration charges. When ICE/CBP contacted the Mexican authorities they arranged to deport Alvarez to stand trial. Alvarez was escorted to the border under heavy guard by U.S. authorities and at the international port of entry he was handed over to Mexican law enforcement.
Breitbart Texas' reported previously that the mass shooting took place near Camargo, Tamaulipas. After the shooting and incineration of the bodies and vehicles, the officers attempted to claim that they arrived to find the macabre scene and blamed the atrocity on a battle between rival cartels operating in the area.
Ten of Alvarez's fellow officers: Hector Javier Alfaro Acuña, Horacio Quiroz Sánchez, William Figueroa Medellin, Jorge Echeverria Barcenas, Christian Eduardo González Garcìa, Carlos Rodriguez Rodriguez, Jorge Castillo Miranda, Jose Luis López Morales, and Edgar Manuel Antonio. and former special operations commander Horacio Rocha Nambo, have already been convicted on charges related to the massacre in Mexican court, in addition to regional police coordinator Mayra Elizabeth Vazquez.
One of the officers, Ismael Vazquez Leon, reportedly turned into a state witness and implicated his fellow officers and commanders, for which Judge Lugo Jaramillo spared him murder charges and instead convicted him of abuse of authority and crimes against public administration only.
Alvarez is likely to face charges of murder, abuse of authority, and crimes against public administration, among others related to his evasion of police and illegal immigration into the United States.
