FRANKLIN, NJ - Project Help, a nonprofit support system for veterans and their families who need help during and after their transition from military to civilian life, is hosting an October golf tournament in New Jersey.

The event, called“Teeing off for Veterans,” will be held on October 2, 2023, at Black Bear Golf club in Franklin. The location was chosen, the organization said, because golfers of all skill levels can participate. A press release by Project Help also offers "fun surprises" along the way.

A box lunch along with a full course hot gourmet buffet dinner will be provided by the executive chef, along with happy hour (including free drinks) and several giveaways.

Several exciting celebrity speakers will be present, starting with professional opera singer Frank Basile, who will open the event with the Star Spangled Banner and the pledge of Allegiance during registration.

According to the press release, "Planned are a number of really fun challenges, some with big surprises for you, silent auction, 50/50, ball cannon, and many other unique and fun things to add to your challenges and fun during your day at Black Bear.

"Mitchell and Company will be onsite to film and take table shots at dinner. Sponsorships are available on a first come first served basis and will sell out quickly.

"This is the event that will provide the much needed money to the 'Hardship Fund.'  These funds are used to provide vital and at times, lifesaving assistance to veterans who have fallen upon hard times.

"Project Help is a registered 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2016 by Sandy Mitchell, with a mission to be in service to our military and veterans.  They are an all-volunteer group of patriots who love our service men and women and help them as much as possible.

They provide guidance, resolution of problems, financial assistance and rehousing, legal issues and almost any other scenario. If they don’t provide the service themselves, they can refer you to someone who can help.  All of their service programs are provided free of charge to veterans."

According to Project Help, "This event is endorsed by Senator Steve Oroho and Lt Col, Robert Vicci who are both longtime friends of Project Help and so excited to see they are finally doing a golf outing…when asked why Project Help took so long to do it, Sandy Mitchell, Executive Director and founder replied…'We really didn’t think we had the golfing followers to make it work until now…we still don’t know for sure but we’re going to work really hard to make it happen for the veterans who are counting on us.  We must succeed and you can help make or break the event.'"
