Each year, National Police Week serves as a solemn reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication demonstrated by law enforcement officers across the United States. For GALLS, supporting the men and women who serve has always been more than a mission statement, it is a responsibility and a privilege.
During National Police Week 2026, officers, survivors, families, and supporters gathered in Washington, D.C., as GALLS stood alongside the law enforcement community in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice and recognizing the officers who continue protecting communities every day.
Originally established in 1962 by presidential proclamation from John F. Kennedy, National Police Week included Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15 and a series of events dedicated to remembrance, unity, and support for the law enforcement profession.
Throughout the week, thousands traveled to the nation’s capital to participate in memorial services, survivor events, and tributes honoring fallen officers. Among the most powerful observances was the Candlelight Vigil hosted by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, where the names of fallen officers were read aloud as candles illuminated the National Mall in a moving tribute to lives lost in service.

GALLS was also proud to support organizations that continue caring for the families left behind. That included the important work performed by Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), which provides resources, counseling, and long-term support for the loved ones of fallen officers. Their mission serves as a reminder that the impact of a line-of-duty death extends far beyond the badge itself, affecting spouses, children, parents, friends, and entire communities.
Another major highlight of National Police Week was the National Honor Guard Competition, where elite honor guard teams from departments across the country demonstrated the precision, discipline, and professionalism required to honor fallen officers with dignity. These teams represented the very best traditions of law enforcement service, carrying out ceremonial duties that demand flawless execution and deep respect for those who gave everything in the line of duty.
As part of its continued support for the law enforcement community, GALLS proudly served as a corporate sponsor of the memorial service held Friday during National Police Week observances. Supporting events that honor fallen officers and support surviving families reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to those who serve.
For decades, GALLS has equipped officers and agencies nationwide with the uniforms, gear, and equipment they depend on every day. But beyond providing equipment, the company has remained committed to supporting the people behind the badge and the organizations that serve them.
National Police Week was not only about remembrance. It was also about unity, resilience, and ensuring that the sacrifices made by fallen officers are never forgotten. It served as a time for the law enforcement community and the public alike to reflect on the risks officers face daily and the families who stand beside them through that service.
As officers and supporters gathered in Washington, D.C., GALLS proudly joined in honoring the fallen, supporting survivors, and standing firmly behind the men and women who continue to serve.
