GALLS®  has partnered with Law Enforcement Today to launch the “Next Generation of Protectors” campaign as part of a nationwide initiative to highlight rising leaders in law enforcement.

This effort shines a spotlight on exceptional officers under 30 who represent the future of policing with grit, compassion, and integrity.

Among those featured in the campaign is Taime Viner, a veteran of nearly two decades in law enforcement. Though now a seasoned officer, Viner’s story is a powerful example for young recruits entering the profession. She reflects on her unexpected journey into law enforcement and the deep sense of purpose it has brought her.

“My entire life I actually wanted to be a doctor,” Viner shared in a video. “One day when I came in to work I just thought, ‘This is boring. There’s got to be something else I could do that is more action-filled.’”

That realization led her to pursue a career in a field traditionally dominated by men. But Viner was undeterred.

“I knew that I would never be the first to add anything, but I also just told myself I would never be the last either,” she said.

Her passion for mentorship and training soon revealed her calling. “In the minute that I got into field training, I just knew that that was the job that I wanted to do,” she added.

Viner also brings her faith into her work unapologetically. “I have no shame in sharing my faith at work. In fact, I now pray over my squad before we start our shift,” she revealed.

She credits her stepfather, also in law enforcement, for sparking her initial interest through radio transmissions at home. That early exposure planted a seed that grew into a remarkable career dedicated to service.

The “Next Generation of Protectors” campaign invites supervisors, peers, and community members to nominate young officers making a difference in their departments and communities.

All nominees will be considered for the prestigious Young Officer Award, which will be presented at the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 10, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. One outstanding officer will also receive the exclusive Next Generation Prize Pack.

Nominations are open through October 31, 2025.

To support the campaign, GALLS® is offering special discounts through September 30, including 20% off Mission Made products with code PROTECT20, and 15% off sitewide with code LET15.

Wonderful to recognize positive contributions of young troops. One thing puzzled me, however. How can Viner be "a veteran of nearly two decades" and yet be under 30, as required for this? Don't get me wrong. I applaud her efforts, particularly her recognition of God being present (He is at all times and in all places). We all should constantly do so, and particularly as one is headed out on shift.
