DALLAS, GA – Authorities out of Paulding County, Georgia, arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing a 37-year-old man earlier in July who was reportedly helping the alleged killer with a place to stay after the suspect and his significant other had fell on hard times.
Paulding County Sheriff’s deputies seemingly landed on a homicide case emblematic of the notion that no good deed goes unpunished, after authorities arrested a man identified as Jacob Brady who stands accused of fatally stabbing his friend, 37-year-old Josh Addison, who was letting Brady reportedly stay in his home rent-free.
Local reports note that deputies responded to a home located off the 300 block of Amsterdam Way in the Windmill Creek neighborhood on the evening of July 19th after receiving a 911 call about a stabbing incident. Upon the arrival of deputies, they reportedly found Brady on the back porch covered in blood, with Addison inside of the residence suffering from apparent stab wounds.
First responders immediately rendered aid to the victim before transporting him to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to authorities.
Investigators say the fatal incident occurred while Brady and his wife were in the process of moving in their belongings into Addison’s home when an argument broke out between Brady and Addison that reportedly turned violent. Relatives of the deceased claimed Addison was trying to help Brady and his wife out during a rough patch, as Brady had recently been released from jail and needed a place to stay.
Brady’s wife, who has yet to be publicly identified by authorities, was reportedly the individual who found Addison in the home following the incident, placing the 911 call and allegedly telling the dispatcher, “My husband attacked him with a knife.”
The suspect is currently being held at the Paulding County Jail without bond and is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault. Brady’s next court appearance has yet to be publicly listed as of this writing.
