GWINNETT COUNTY, GA - Police have arrested a man after he was seen attempting to break into several vehicles while wearing only a tablecloth.
The alleged crimes took place on December 2, when police received a report of a stolen vehicle believed to be in possession of Mackienzy Kahl, FOX5 reported. Later that day, police found the vehicle, but Kahl was no longer inside.
Witnesses said he had taken off on foot, and officers noted signs that he may have been exposed to chemicals while inside the stolen vehicle. As officers searched for Kahl, multiple 911 calls came in reporting a man matching Kahl's description running through the area wearing only a tablecloth and attempting to break into several other cars.
At one point, Kahl allegedly entered an occupied home and took the keys to a Mercedes before driving off. Officers were able to quickly locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop. Kahl was then safely taken into custody.
Kahl has been charged with theft by taking, burglary in the first degree, entering an automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft or a felony, loitering and prowling, and driving without a license.
According to online records, Kahl was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on December 2, where, as of Saturday, January 3, he remained, the Patch reported. His bond was set at $2,600.
