GWINNET COUNTY, GA - A man has been arrested after allegedly shooting three of his relatives and his wife inside a Gwinnett County home.

The alleged suspect, 51-year-old Vlijay Kumar, is facing multiple counts of murder after police say he fatally shot three of his relatives and his wife early Friday morning, January 23, according to 11Alive. Police said they arrived at a shots fired call around 2:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Brook Ivy Court in Lawrenceville.

Upon arriving on scene, police said they found four people in the home dead with gunshot wounds, and three children, ages seven, 10 and 12, hiding unharmed inside a closet. The 12-year-old is the child of the alleged suspect and the one who called 911 to report the shots fired.

During the investigation, police found Kumar a short distance away from the house. He was taken into custody without further incident. The investigation revealed that before the shooting, Kumar and his wife, 43-year-old Meemu Dogra, got into an argument at their house, leading them to travel to a relative's house on Brook Ivy Court where the deadly shooting occurred.

The other victims were identified as the couple's relatives, 33-year-old Gourav Cumar; 37-year-old Nidhi Chander; and 38-year-old Harish Chander. Police have yet to release any details about what led up to the couple's argument and why they went to the home on Brook Ivy Court.

Kumar is facing four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of felony murder, four counts of malice murder, one count of cruelty to children in the first degree, and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree. He remains in custody.
