Graphic Anti-ICE Artwork Ignites Firestorm After Going Viral Online

COLUMBUS, GA – A self-proclaimed “queer and non-binary” tattoo artist out of the Columbus, Georgia, area is facing backlash after art they reportedly shared on their now-privated Facebook account depicted the individual violently cutting the throat of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent.

On July 5th, the social media account for Libs of TikTok posted on X a screenshot stemming from the since-privated Facebook account of Josey Posey who shared a piece of their artwork which appears to depict themselves cutting the throat of an ICE agent, with a caption reading, “Stand up, fight back.”

The Facebook post seemingly garnered significant attention on the original platform, with one X user pointing out an update Posey made on the post, before making their profile private, claiming they had been receiving “death threats” over the featured illustration.

Posey had apparently been featured in a blog in an effort to highlight their artwork, which profiled the individual as, “A queer and non-binary artist in the south, Josey is aiming to illustrate a reality unseen in the day-to-day.” Contained within the same blog post were links to Posey’s social media accounts, which likely led to online sleuths discovering their place of work at a local tattoo shop.

C Davis Tattoo Studio out of Columbus, Georgia, had even featured Posey on their official Instagram page in early 2025 in a bid to entice walk-ins, but when word got back to the tattoo shop owner of Posey’s social media activity, it would appear the owner is not pleased with Posey’s expressed sentiments online.

In a post advertising specials for America’s 250th Birthday, one Instagram commenter shared the offending artwork in question and asked, “Isn’t this your artist?” The owner of the shop responded directly to the abovementioned comment, writing, “holy sh*t!!! We are addressing! And NO we do not accept this kind of behavior. We support all our federal and law enforcement.”

Due to Posey having privated all their social media accounts since going viral, it’s unclear whether the individual has further addressed the incident.
