As festival goers listened to music, terrorists fell from the sky. When they hit the ground, hundreds of Israelis were dead. The terrorists continued their assault on innocent people, including women and children. People were shot, stabbed, beheaded and burned alive.
People were taken hostage. Women were raped and then paraded around in front of a video camera with those images being streamed around the world, live. There was little any of them could do to stop the attacks or to even fight back.
A well-armed citizenry seems to have a better chance at defending themselves and turning away such an advance than do their unarmed counterparts.
Now, even after Democrats have heralded Israel as a bastion of common-sense gun control, Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir is lifting numerous measures to allow Israeli citizens to be able to defend themselves in the event of continued violence.
Israeli citizens who otherwise meet the requirements and are willing to undergo a telephone interview will be eligible to purchase and carry a weapon.
If they had to surrender their weapons because they had not completed the mandatory refreshers, they would be able to go pick their weapons up. Among other changes, those permitted would be able to purchase 100 rounds per day rather than the previous limit of 50.
Is it possible that such horrific violence could make its way to the US? Given the state of our southern border, anything is could happen. So, it stands to reason that the Biden administartion would be all for arming the American public, given that they meet the criteria.
"While gun control continues to be pushed by the Biden administration, Israel, a state lauded by gun control advocates for its strict regulations, has axed some of its gun control measures in an attempt to fight the recent terrorist invasion," Gun Owners of America recently said.
"Without access to firearms, Israeli citizens are helpless to defend themselves against these heavily armed fighters, resulting in kidnappings and killings."
What would we do if the U.S. was being invaded and overrun by some dangerous and devious individuals?
Some would argue that the 2nd Amendment is the very reason that it hasn't happened. Would the results be different if armed terrorists were going door to door in an American city?
It might depend on the city.
