Happy Halloween: Creepy clown making its way through the streets, daring the cops to catch him

Halloween came early in a Scottish village as a person dressed as a scary clown has reportedly been stalking the streets, issuing a message to the media and daring the police to catch them.

The person, dressed as Stephen King's "Pennywise the Dancing Clown," can been seen wearing red hair, a collar, ruffled leggings and in many photos and videos was often holding the infamous red balloon.

Pictures and videos show the creepy clown posing around darkened streets, taunting police to capture them in what appears to be a game of cat and mouse. Sky News reported that the clown is using a Facebook account under the name Cole Deimos.

In response to news reports that this person had left locals "terrified," the clown uploaded a "message to the media." In a rhyming video, they said, "Well, well, well, I've made the news again. Should I smile for the cameras with my 'hideous' grin?"

The Facebook profile states that the person "studied at Clown School" and lives in Skelmorlie. According to the New York Post, Skelmorlie is about 35 miles from the country's capital of Edinburgh and has a population of approximately 2,000.

The Facebook profile also states that the person is originally from Hell, Michigan, attended Hellgate High School in Montana and is self-employed.

In response to a local resident who said that the clown had deleted previous posts because they were "getting too much heat," they said, "What a stupid thing to say." According to the Independent, a local father of two said, "Whoever this is they are scaring everybody. He needs to be stopped."

The father added, "Someone needs to have a word with him before the police get involved or he really terrifies someone. He could give someone a heart attack."

News outlets stated that police in Scotland are aware of the videos, but have not received any actual reports from people. Throughout one of the videos, the clown reads out alleged Facebook comments before responding to them his creepy voice.

He said, "The police have been informed, 'do you think that I care? They'd have to catch me first anyway, and yes, that's a dare." He also said, "Don't believe what you are told. This clown doesn't want fame, glory or gold. He just wants to play, in this so-called 'sleepy town.' So, come and join in and learn to fear the Skelmorlie Clown."

In response to the video, one Facebook user wrote, "Out of all the clowns in this village he's the best." Another user wrote, "Brilliant! Love it every year! Please don't stop!" Someone else also told the clown to "never stop" adding, "We were out the other night in Skelmorlie hoping to bump into you."

Others were not as impressed, with one Facebook user writing, "I take it you are unemployed!!! You need to grow up it's pathetic." Another chimed in, "A grown person who enjoys scaring children. Pretty lame and pathetic."

The "creepy clown" viral trend surfaced back in 2016 with some unhinged clowns making threats to several schools in New York and forcing two Long Island districts to go into lockdown.
