Houston Woman Accused of Killing Boyfriend in Brutal Screwdriver Attack

HOUSTON, TX - A woman has been charged with murder after authorities accused her of stabbing her boyfriend to death with a screwdriver.

The suspect, identified as Jayla Brown, is charged with the murder of Keylan Foreman, who died on January 19, weeks after he was initially stabbed during an altercation on December 27, 2025, according to Click 2 Houston. Brown reportedly told police that the couple were in an on-again, off-again relationship.

The couple was in an altercation when Brown allegedly stabbed Foreman, causing severe injuries to his face and brain. Citing charging documents, KTRK said that Brown claimed that Foreman initially hit her. Upon reviewing the surveillance footage, police found no evidence to support her claim.

Brown allegedly struck Foreman, knocking him to the ground, before attacking while she had a long object in her hand. Foreman's death was ruled a homicide, PEOPLE reported. An autopsy report indicated that the injuries, which led to Foreman's death, were caused by a screwdriver.

Foreman never gave a statement to police because he was intubated in the hospital and later transferred to Memorial Hermann Hospital, KHOU11 reported. The arrest complaint states that the doctor documented multiple injuries, including bleeding in the right frontal portion of Foreman's brain and a displaced fracture of the sphenoid bone in his skull.

The medical examiner also noted that they found a "clear path of injury" through Foreman's nasal cavity caused by an instrument consistent with a screwdriver, matching Brown's statement that she used such a tool.

It is unclear if Brown has yet to enter a plea. She is currently being held on a $150,000 bond.
