WASHINGTON, DC - Instead of ensuring the safety of its protectees and having that as a primary goal, the director of equity at the United States Secret Service instead claims it is a “mission imperative” and the “ultimate goal” of the agency to spread DEI, including hosting seminars on the “respectful use of pronouns.”
DEI Director Locious Hires (that’s really his name) appeared on an official government podcast where he was discussing diversity, equity and inclusion, which he said is a “topic that is difficult for some to talk about on the “Standing Post” episode in February 2023, Fox News reported.
The agency’s focus on DEI came to light in the past week when an assassin attempted to take the life of former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, Some have criticized the fact that Trump’s security detail included three female agents who appeared to be somewhat confused as to what they were supposed to be doing. One, for example, struggled with trying to holster her firearm and when unable to, appeared to be holding it in an unsafe manner.
In the podcast, Hires waxed poetic about the agency’s efforts to promote DEI.
“I could talk on and on what the agency is doing to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion…DEI is every action, every day,” he said. “So the opportunity for improvement for every employee within the Secret Service is to ask themselves, ‘What action are you doing every day?’”
“Part of the things that we need to continue to do more is to be open and speak openly about diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. And when every one of us within this agency can say this is a mission imperative, then we have achieved our ultimate goal,” Hires said during the podcast.
The agency has started an “Inclusion Engagement Council” and has taken on “Game Changers” to form the basis of the council.
“The IEC’s collective duty is to help the Secret Service build, foster, create, and inspire a workforce where diversity and inclusion is not just ‘talked about’--but demonstrated by all employees through ‘Every Action, Every Day,’” the organization’s website says.
In other words, carrying out its vital operations, such as protecting the President of the United States, former presidents, and other government officials is a sideshow to what the Secret Service’s new mission is…woke, incorporated.
“Having a diverse workforce enhances cross-cultural awareness. A successful organization is a cohesive one, where all members have mutual respect for each other's diversity and culture,’ the Secret Service said on its website.
The agency has taken to attending the debauchery of Pride events in order to recruit candidates and has been successful in recruiting trans people in the service as a result, according to Andrew Cannady, a supervisory attorney-advisor for the agency’s Office of Chief Counsel.
“We [are] like every organization. We benefit from diversity. And I actually am seeing more openly trans recruits out of the training center, law enforcement recruits, which is great,” Cannady said on a 2022 podcast.
Yes, but can they defend a protectee? That seems not to matter. Fortunately, President Trump didn’t pay for his life from the clear lack of focus of the Secret Service.
Cannady’s job is to provide advice and counsel on personnel, human resources, security clearances and other law enforcement matters at the Secret Service. Clearly he has lost focus on what “other law enforcement matters” means. Meanwhile, he bragged about the Secret Service’s programming about proper pronouns.
“We will put on things during Unity Day, which, you know, for listeners, is the annual day of the Secret Service where we celebrate various groups…that the Secret Service has in its workforce. And, you know, during that, we’ve hosted things like a seminar on the respectful use of pronouns, to sort of try to educate the workforce” Cannady said. “Because some of this stuff, you know, is cutting edge and new and people that just may not be familiar with it.”
Pronouns. That is correct, pronouns.
Fox News reached out to the Secret Service for comment, given the agency completely dropped the ball in its mission to protect the former president, who came within centimeters of suffering a lethal gunshot wound to the head.
The Secret Service has since been under increasing scrutiny, with some lawmakers criticizing the agency and its head, Kim Cheatle, for focusing on woke nonsense such as the above or the 30x30 Initiative, which seeks to increase the number of women in a number of federal law enforcement agencies to 30 percent by 2030. A number of Republicans have called on her to resign, and if she refuses, for lame-duck Joe Biden to fire her.
Cheatle was appointed to lead the agency in 2022 and is only the second woman to ever lead the agency, having come from the private sector, where she served as PepsiCo’s senior director of global security.
“Strategy is focused on achieving excellence through talent, technology, and diversity,” Cheatle said of the agency’s strategic plan in 2023.
“I’m very conscious that we need to attract diverse candidates…and particularly women,” she said in a CBS interview.
According to the agency’s website, Cheatle is responsible for executing the agency’s integrated mission of “protection and investigations by leading a diverse workforce.”
That mission appears to be failing miserably.
