Katie Miller Kicks Off Female-Friendly Podcast With JD Vance as First Guest

Katie Miller, who has amassed a resume in the past decade that has landed her everywhere from the Trump White House in its first term to the Department of Government Efficiency, is embarking on a new venture aiming to capture an audience she feels is inadvertently being neglected in the realm of podcasts.

Earlier in August, Miller launched the first episode of her podcast, aptly dubbed “The Katie Miller Podcast,” with an interview with none other than Vice President JD Vance.

While there is certainly no shortage of platforms and interviews featuring notable figures in politics, Miller’s approach and conversation with Vice President Vance affords viewers and listeners insight into the human element of her guest – be it the Vice President’s favorite “dad joke” or his lightheartedly complicated history with wearing cargo shorts.

The notion regarding the abundance of political talk shows and podcasts isn’t lost on Miller either, highlighting how some of the largest creators in the aforementioned space tend to attract demographics that skew either toward male or generally older audiences.

“I always knew there was a major gap in relatable podcasts for women compared to men,” Miller says of her motivation behind starting the new podcast, adding, “Theo Von, Nelk Boys, and Joe Rogan all have audiences that are 70-90% male. Megyn Kelly’s audience skews older. In a career of booking many of these men, I saw the need for something different.”

But Miller isn’t exactly trying to be a carbon copy of Joe Rogan or Theo Von by way of solely discussing topical political or social agendas, instead opting for conversations with her guests she feels will invite a broader audience of listeners and viewers.

“That’s why I’m launching a podcast that isn’t political but speaks to women about the importance of families, babies, healthy meals, and how across careers and cultures we all go through the same things,” Miller stated, emphasizing, “This podcast is about telling the stories and expanding on the real lives of people, where they get their groceries, how they manage family and career and how they handle the big moments and small ones.”

Since the launch of Miller’s podcast, she’s not only hosted the current Vice President, but also most recently had former ESPN sportscaster Sage Steele on the platform.
