Identical tents…identical signs…identical operating procedures. Anyone paying attention knows the sometimes violent demonstrations being carried out across the country by the 2024 version of the 1930s Hitler Youth activities in Nazi Germany are hardly grassroots protests.
It is clear that someone is organizing and funding these pro-Hamas, anti-Israel, anti-American demonstrations. In the famous words of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, these are not grassroots events…rather, they are “Astroturf.” Organized events intended to fulfill a political purpose.
Unlike Pelosi’s assessment, made during the Tea Party movement, what is going on at our colleges and universities and in the streets of America is well-organized and well-funded.
Now, the Coalition for a Safer Web (CSW) has been able to identify many nonprofits that are assisting in the demise of our Republic.
On March 23, 2024, CSW published a report that exposed the organization and financial ties to anti-Semitic and pro-Hamas groups.
On the very day that Hamas entered Israel and began the slaughter of over 1,300 Israeli citizens while taking hundreds of people hostage, including some Americans, the Democratic Socialists of America posted a flyer promoting an event at Times Square in Manhattan to show solidarity with Hamas.
That event hosted speakers from anti-Semitic organizations such as Within Our Lifetime, Decolonize This Place, and Students Justice For Palestine. The event was partly sponsored by the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, and the (George) Soros Open Society Foundation. That protest marched to the Israeli consulate, where the savage participants waved Nazi signs while celebrating the deaths of Israeli citizens.
Since that time, these groups within New York have targeted Jewish-owned businesses, municipal buildings with Jewish donors, and, more recently, Columbia University.
The coordinating structure of these groups, according to CSW, includes the usual suspects–Democratic Socialists of America, Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and many more. The groups use social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter (X), and Telegram to promote their demonstrations.
Funding comes from several sources, including foreign private donations, foreign governments such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Russia, university-funded student organization grants, city and state grants, and the largest source of financing, US tax-exempt nonprofits.
Domestic sources of funding included the aforementioned Soros Open Society Foundations and The Tides Foundation. Money also comes from the Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and even the New York City Council discretionary funding and state grants.
In a subsequent release issued on April 30, 2024, CSW further identified other sources of funding for the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel and anti-American demonstrations. They are:
- Former Wall St. financier Felice Gelman
- The Party for Socialism & Liberation/A.N.S.W.E.R.
- The Tides Society Foundation & Center
- WESPAC- Westchester People’s Action Coalition Foundation
- The Sunrise Movement
According to their research, CSW found that funding from these entities “has been accessed via social media-designated distribution points at and around campuses and funds everything from tents to nuts.”
It further notes that three of the more notorious groups involved in inciting pro-Hamas protests are benefactors of funding from the above five, including Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), and Within Our Lifetime, which receive direct and indirect proceeds.
The breakdown is as follows:
Felice Gelman
Gleman is a former Wall Street banker who has dedicated her fortune to pro-Palestinian causes. She and her husband Yoram fund the Sparkplug Foundation and WESPAC signs and printing expenses, salaries for professional far-left agitator leaders, plus bond and attorney fees to bail out those arrested for criminal acts.
The Party for Socialism & Liberation/A.N.S.W.E.R.
This is a Marxist/Leninist offshoot of the Communist Party and its affiliate A.N.S.W.E.R (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) that is behind a majority of the anti-Semitic, pro-Hamas demonstrations across the country and uses social media to further their cause.
The organization's website says it is intended “...to bring together a new generation of revolutionaries alongside veterans of the people’s movements with decades of experience.” PSL isn’t only an anti-Semitic organization; it has also been involved in issues such as affordable housing, alleged police brutality, the fight for higher minimum wages, and union rights. According to its website, it seeks to “end the capitalist system and fight for liberation and freedom…”
It didn’t take long for PSL to mobilize demonstrators in “response” to the situation in Gaza. Demonstrators trained by the organization quickly mobilized to block traffic in key areas such as the Golden Gate Bridge and the roadway leading to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. They also protested at Biden's “campaign” events and targeted businesses such as Starbucks, McDonald’s, Puma, and others, as well as members of Congress at their homes and offices.
CSW discovered a tie between PSL and the so-called “BDS” movement (Boycott, Disinvestment & Sanctions) against Israel. PSL is attempting to push BDS as part of a campaign to boycott U.S. businesses operating in Israel. They have also been pushing divestment on college campuses.
CSW also did a deep dive into the social media operations of Students for Justice in Palestine, which, for some reason, is still allowed to operate on college campuses while it should be designated as a terrorist organization. SJP has collaborated with A.N.S.W.E.R. to develop a “disruptive demonstration toolkit” that is being distributed to the mind-numbed robots demonstrating on campuses. That same toolkit has been distributed to other radical anti-Semitic organizations, including the Black Hebrew Israelites (which HAS been designated a terrorist group).
Moreover, the pro-Hamas demonstrators are also being used by operatives linked to Russia and Chinese propagandists who are using them as unwitting pawns, CSW reports.
The web of ties between PSL, A.N.S.W.E.R, and a Chinese oligarch, Neville Singhham, and funding organizations, such as the Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund, was discovered by CSW. In fact, Singham was the main funder of The People’s Forum, which co-organized at least four pro-Hamas protests. Another principal of PSL and A.N.S.W.E.R., Brian Becker, a publicly avowed anti-Semite, has close ties to the Kremlin. Becker is the principal organizer of a pro-Palestinian coalition operating under the A.N.S.W.E.R umbrella.
Both the PSL and A.N.S.W.E.R. have been designated by the Anti-Defamation Leauge use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok to plan their anti-American, disruptive demonstrations even though these platforms allegedly prohibit anti-Semitic propaganda and support for Hamas terrorists.
One organization ripe for being targeted by the IRS for abusing its nonprofit status is the Tides Foundation, which has over $1.3 billion in assets.
Founded in the mid-1970s, Tides launders billions of dollars through a number of “charity” organizations called “donor-advised funds,” or DAFs. DAFs operate like savings accounts for donors, who deposit funds and choose which left-wing groups they want to support. Tides is under the auspices of the Tides Network, a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit that coordinates multiple nonprofits under the Tides umbrella.
CSW writes that following the money trail under Tides is a difficult task. Tides and its supporters rely on a major IRS loophole that enables the organization to fund projects under its umbrella under a process where it avoids disclosing the specific anti-Semitic or pro-Hamas groups it supports. By so doing, neither Tides nor the funded project have to disclose the fund transfers which would normally be reported to the IRS.
Some of TIdes’ major supporters include George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and the New Israel fund, which is the largest donation source for anti-Zionist causes in Israel.
TIdes also receives grants from a number of “commercial” donor-advised fund providers (nonprofits associated with for-profit investment companies). Do you have your money in a 401k or an IRS? If it is held through Vanguard, Fidelity, or Schwab, it is likely helping to support Hamas and other anti-American, anti-Israeli groups.
Fear not if you are an American taxpayer. You’re also funding Hamas via Tides. A Washington Examiner analysis showed that U.S. taxpayers either directly or indirectly gave over $81.2 million to the Tides Center between 2006 and 2023, documents showed.
Nearly half of that $81.2 million was routed through a subcontract or subgrant. In other words, the charity received the cash after the federal government directed the primary award to another entity, such as the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the City and County of San Francisco, and universities.
Tides awards came from a number of federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the State Department, the Departments of Education and Interior, and the U.S. Agency for International Development, among many others.
Tides used those funds to support the Alliance for Global Justice, the Palestinian Legal Fund, and the Abdalah Justice Project, all of whom support Hamas and the BDS movement. Tides support a number of other pro-Hamas, anti-Israel, and anti-American organizations.
Finally, there is the Sunrise Movement, which masks itself as a “climate change” organization but is,, in fact,, a radical pro-Hamas organization. This is further proof of the intersectionality (a favorite leftist buzzword) between radical environmentalists, Marxists, Nazi youth, pro-Hamas, anti-Israel and anti-American groups.
Sunrise decided to intervene in the Gaza situation when it organized the November 4, 2023, national march in Washington, D.C. Tax forms revealed that Sunrise Movement Education Fund took in 4335,000 in 2022 from Tides.
Sunrise also reposted If Not Now’s Oct. 7 statement on social media that blamed Israel, not Hamas, for the Hamas-led attack on Israel’s homeland. It regularly accused Isreal of genocide for defending itself from Hamas terrorists. The group, also a designated “nonprofit,’ has circulated a “Showing Up For Palestine” toolkit that instructs the public to contact their Congressional representatives and email the New York Times editorial board to demand a ceasefire.
The toolkit was also linked to a Telegram pro-Hamas petition and posted on social media by Jewish Voice for Peace, Palestinean Youth Movement, If Not Now, and other anti-Israeal, pro-Hamas groups.
All of these groups have been allowed to facilitate sometimes violent riots, takeovers, and general mayhem on college campuses and city streets across the United States, facilitated in part by liberal tax policy courtesy of the U.S. government.
