LOUISVILLE, KY - Damien Pulce, a Louisville man arrested after allegedly firing a weapon inside a CVS store is being held on a mental inquest warrant pending a hearing. Pulce reportedly pulled a firearm out and “fired one round into the floor,” according to a police citation.
As reported by WDRB-TV, Pulce has a history of violence and one woman, who claims to be a former victim, told reporters she believes he will soon be back on the streets.
The outlet’s source- referred to as “Vee”- told reporters, "I was really shocked. I mean I, you know, had a kind of a visceral feeling in my gut that this guy's out there again."
Vee spoke to the WDRB about her 2022 run-in with Pulce, saying, “I did my jog and came back to my place, and I was walking, cooling down for my run, and I saw him across the street.”
"I knew something wasn't right, so I kind of turned around and started to walk the other way," she added. "And I mean, it couldn't have been more (than) a couple seconds, I lost sight of him, and I heard him running up behind me."
She told reporters that Pulce brazenly attacked her in broad daylight. “He started to just kick and kick and kick me about my, you know, my torso, my ribs area," she said. "And I was hollering to stop, and hollering help. And then I started to kick back and fight back as best I could from the ground.”
The suspect was reportedly arrested and charged with attacking Vee and one other woman the same day. "I spoke with the detective,” she said. “And, you know, asked him what was going to happen, and he said, 'Well, he'll go before the judge.'"
The outlet noted that Pulce’s day in court never came despite a long criminal history.
Louisville attorney and former prosecutor Brian Butler told the outlet, "And so looking back at his history, it appears that there have been multiple decisions by judges that he was not competent to stand trial." He added, "In order to stand trial, you have to be competent to stand trial." Butler told WDRB that Pulce could continue to be released noting, "once the person's not competent to stay at trial, you can't hold them forever."

They ought to execute these kind of people or lock them away for life . Mental illness doesn't hold water . They know right from wrong.
