ANNAPOLIS, MD- Ever since President Trump was sworn in for his second term and embarked on trying to wrestle our country back from illegal alien invaders, Law Enforcement Today has covered ad nauseam the insanity of sanctuary jurisdictions that simply refuse to cooperate with the federal government, along with gutless police chiefs such as former Minneapolis chief Brian O’Hara, who actually shed tears for anti-ICE protesters. Unfortunately, the pathogen isn’t limited to Minneapolis.
Enter Annapolis, Maryland, home of the U.S. Naval Academy, located on picturesque Chesapeake Bay. We have to admit, we’ve been surprised by some of the insane comments emanating from the leadership of law enforcement agencies nationwide, particularly those in sanctuary jurisdictions, but this one actually took the cake.
On June 15, the Annapolis Police Department published a post of “Suspected ICE activity.” We looked through their Facebook page for posts about “suspected criminal activity” but were unable to find any.
“Annapolis Police received reports from residents that a suspected ICE vehicle was seen in the APD parking lot just before noon.”

As a reminder to the Annapolis PD, ICE is a fellow law enforcement agency. Ever diligent, the Annapolis PD checked cameras and “confirmed that the suspected ICE vehicle pulled into the front parking lot, with another vehicle driving behind it.”
Now, for some important context. Law Enforcement Today was contacted by a source who told us that the reason the “suspected ICE vehicle” pulled into the department’s parking lot was because the “vehicle driving behind it” had been chasing the ICE vehicle throughout the city. The ICE agents pulled into the PD parking lot for “safe haven,” since radical leftists, including Democrats, have been advocating for the murder of ICE officers. The ICE officers assumed (apparently incorrectly) that pulling into the parking lot of a fellow law enforcement agency would be a good tactic.
In case you were concerned if the ICE officers had the audacity to “enter the restricted portion of the lot or interact with any sworn or civilian APD staff,” stow those fears. The Annapolis PD ensured its Facebook followers that those mean, evil ICE agents didn’t talk to any Annapolis cops.
Doing our due diligence, Law Enforcement Today researched who the police chief of this paranoid law enforcement agency is. It is important to point out that this is not a criticism of the rank and file Annapolis PD officers. However this post was allowed to be posted on social media and again from what our source told us, was done so with the full consent and approval of the (acting) chief of police, Amy Miguez.
Needless to say, some of the comments in response to the post were lit:

Over the past six years or so, Law Enforcement Today has reported on some excellent female police leaders, including Danielle Outlaw, who served as chief of the Portland Police Bureau. She later moved to the Philadelphia Police Department, where she served from 2019 until 2023, when she took on a new job as deputy chief security officer of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
We have also reported on some less than stellar female chiefs, including New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick, who appeared clueless during the January 1, 2025 terrorist attack on Bourbon Street that killed 15 people, DC Metro Police Chief Pamela Smith, and Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge. Oh, and there are plenty of clueless male law enforcement leaders to go around, including the aforementioned O’Hara and Tompkins County (NY) Sheriff Derek Osborne.
You can now add Miguez to that list. Frankly, we were embarrassed for her after first seeing the ridiculous Facebook post, but then after we learned the reason why ICE officers basically sought sanctuary in her department’s parking lot after being chased by unhinged leftist lunatics with God knows what intentions in mind, we are even more embarrassed. Oh by the way, doing our part for Pride Month, we figured we'd let you know that Miguez is the former "LGBTQ Liaison" for the Annapolis PD.
There was a time was police work was a brotherhood, whether you were a rural county sheriff, a town or city police officer, a state trooper, or a federal law enforcement officer. All cops stuck together. The wall sanctuary jurisdictions have put up between their law enforcement officers and federal agents is a travesty. We’re all supposed to be on the same side, and that side includes enforcing the law, including immigration law. People like Acting Chief Miguez need to remember that.
