Dead Cats, Goats, and Rabbits Found as Woman Bites Officer in Michigan

DELTA COUNTY, MI- A Michigan woman was arrested after Michigan State Police alleged that she had multiple dead animals on her property, and during a police investigation, she bit a state trooper on the wrist. 

Brianna Makosky, 22, was arrested after police received a report of animal neglect on Feb. 3, allegedly involving multiple individuals, a state police release Following an initial investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the property in Cornell Township. The search warrant was conducted on Feb. 4, and police did indeed discover several dead animals on the property, including cats, rabbits, pigs and goats. State police also found live animals in what was described as malnourished and unhealthy condition, including 14 cats, 12 rabbits and one sheep from the property. During the investigation, Makosky began to resist and obstruct officers while refusing to follow lawful orders. “The woman then bit one of the troopers on the wrist. She was informed that she was under arrest, and she continued to fight with the troopers, including attempting to bite another trooper,” the release said. “She was safely taken into custody and was then lodged in the Delta County Jail.” On Feb 5, Makosky was arraigned in the 94th District Court, charged with three felony counts of resist/obstruct/assault a police officer. She was held on a $4,000 bond with her next court appearance scheduled for Feb. 19. The Michigan State Police were sure to add that, “The defendant is considered innocent unless proven guilty.” The case remains under investigation and will be submitted to the Delta County prosecutor’s office once the investigation is complete, with further charges possible."> said.
