She Vanished Without a Trace. Days Later, Investigators Made a Grim Discovery.

RUTHERFORDTON, NC- On June 26, Jordan Elaine Wishon, 30, was reported missing to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s office. She was last seen in the South Church Street area in Mooresboro, N.C. Investigators conducted a series of interviews into her disappearance that same day and into the early morning hours of June 27.

Early Saturday morning, one of those warrants led to the search of a home where Wishon’s remains were found, the sheriff’s office said.

In a press release posted on Facebookthe sheriff’s office wrote:

“On June 28, 2026, investigators obtained a warrant charging Jaydakis Kashaune Hamilton, 25 of Rutherfordton, with First Degree Murder. Hamilton is currently incarcerated at the Polk County Detention Center on unrelated charges and has not yet been served with this outstanding warrant.”

ABC 13 News spoke to a neighbor named William Evans, who confirmed he’d heard a body had been found, however didn’t know the circumstances. He recognized Wishon after the sheriff’s office released her photo.

“I’d pass her when I’d go to the mailbox and she’d be coming up,” he said.

Glen Overhulser, a family friend, confirmed Wishon lived at the home where her remains were found and said she was someone who used to help others.

“I knew Jordan, not well, but I knew her well enough to know she was a real sweet girl,” he said. He said she often visited him with a mutual friend.

“She would come to my home with a mutual friend of ours and visit, and she was there to help me. She would help me because I’m elderly and disabled,” he said. While he doesn’t know Hamilton, he expressed anger over what he allegedly did.

Court records obtained by News 13 showed Hamilton was charged by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol a couple of weeks ago for multiple driving offenses, including reckless driving, operating a vehicle with an expired registration, and resisting an officer. Only days later, records show he was charged by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office with auto theft.

Hamilton is scheduled for his first court appearance later this week.
